Chapter 120 Don’t Act On Impulse
Skyla let out a bitter laugh. “They don’t care about me, about what I’ve been through, or about the outcome. They just want to laugh at me, watch me fall from here and splatter into nothing.”
Abigail and Sophia immediately realized something was wrong.
Abigail quickly pulled out her phone and opened the app. The moment she saw the content, she understood what was happening.
Sophia glanced at Abigail’s phone.
She was so angry she wanted to throw the phone away and storm downstairs to tear those people apart.
Skyla took another step back, and both Sophia and Abigail were terrified.
“Skyla! Don’t do anything reckless, don’t act on impulse! Listen to me I know right now you feel hopeless, angry, like this whole world is broken. I know you feel wronged and like there’s no way forward.
“But the more they want to see us fail, the more we should prove them wrong, right? Do you really want to be the punchline. of their jokes? Let the people who hurt you laugh while these irrelevant strangers feel satisfied?”
Sophia’s voice was hoarse as she spoke.
Chapter 120 Don’t Act On Impulse jumped today.
For Sophia, it would be an unbearable blow.
On the other side, Felix was inching closer to Skyla’s side.
Abigail chimed in, trying to help.

“Skyla, we’re all here for you. You’re not fighting this alone. If we didn’t win the first trial, we’ll appeal. If the second trial doesn’t work, we’ll keep going. We’ll pursue justice until it’s served. We’ll all help you, okay?”
Skyla shook her head. “I’m really grateful to you both. After seeing the darkness of this world, it means a lot to know someone still cares. But… I don’t have the money to keep paying for legal fees.”
“You don’t need money!” Sophia said immediately. “As long as you promise to give us all another chance, I won’t charge you. Is that okay?”
Abigail added, “Exactly, Skyla! All the lawyers at our firm are the best. Together, we can definitely help you. None of us will charge you, as long as you promise to come down from there. Please?”
Skyla wavered again, and both Abigail and Sophia could see it,
Felix had also moved to a position where he could easily pull her down.
Everyone held their breath.

From such a high floor, she couldn’t hear what they were saying.
Still, the chaotic noise stirred up her imagination.
The cruel words from her ex–boyfriend’s parents replayed in her mind.
So did the opposing lawyer’s jabs about her going to bars.
In an instant, the light in Skyla’s eyes dimmed again.
“I’m sorry. I can’t do this anymore. Even if I win this time, what difference does it make? Just because I’m a woman, I get mocked for going to bars. Just because I’m a woman, I get labeled indecent for wearing a summer dress. Even my own boyfriend didn’t trust me, gave up on me, and couldn’t accept me for who I am.
“Even if I escape this time, I can’t escape the next. As long as I’m a woman, this world will always be unfair. If I get a next life, I’d rather be a stray cat or dog than be a girl again.”
With that, Skyla turned around and spread her arms.
Her body leaned forward.
She was just about to fall.
Sophia and Abigail’s eyes widened in horror, and they instinctively ran toward Skyla.
But it was too late–Skyla was already falling. The crowd below let out gasps and screams.

He grabbed Skyla’s wrist.

Skyla’s entire body dangled in midair, and her arm was firmly held by Felix.
The force of the fall caused both of their arms to slam painfully against the rooftop railing.
Felix’s face turned pale from the pain, and his forehead was covered in a sheen of sweat.
Yet, he held onto Skyla with all his strength, refusing to let go.
Skyla, however, showed little will to survive, her body hanging limply as she made no effort to help herself.
Abigail and Sophia rushed forward to help, but their strength was too little to make a difference.
The courthouse staff nearby hurried over to assist.
With everyone’s combined effort, Skyla was finally pulled back
- up.
Even so, they had all just gone through a truly horrifying
moment.
Once Skyla was safe, she collapsed onto the ground, hugged her knees tightly, and buried her face, crying her heart out.
The lead judge took off his robe and draped it over her shoulders.

All eyes were on Skyla.
But Abigail noticed that Felix’s arm seemed to be seriously injured.

From that angle earlier, it had already been difficult for him to grab Skyla.
His arm had also slammed into the railing, and it was likely sprained.
Seeing him clutching his arm in silence, Abigail ran over to him.
“How bad is it? Are you seriously hurt?” she asked.
Felix shook his head. “I’m fine. As long as she’s okay, that’s all
that matters.”
This chaotic scene finally ended with Skyla being saved, bringing the ordeal to a close.
It seemed like there wouldn’t be any more issues here.
Abigail decided to take Felix to the hospital.
Sophia stayed behind to monitor Skyla closely.
Skyla’s parents soon arrived at the scene.
The moment they saw Skyla, they rushed to her and burst into
tears.
“You tried to jump! How could you be so selfish?
Chapter 120 Don’t Act On Impulse Seeing her parents, Skyla cried even harder.
Only then did Sophia finally breathe a sigh of relief.
It seemed Skyla wouldn’t try anything drastic again.

Although it felt awkward to bring it up, Sophia gently reminded them, “Her emotions are very unstable right now. She’s showing signs of severe depression, possibly PTSD. I strongly suggest you find her a therapist as soon as possible.
“The upcoming appeal is going to be tough. We need to make sure Skyla’s mental health is stable so she can have the strength to fight.”
Skyla’s parents didn’t speak, but they both nodded.
Seeing this, Sophia finally relaxed.
After a while, everyone calmed down.
They all began to head downstairs together.
The crowd below hadn’t dispersed yet, and the moment they saw the group coming down, they swarmed toward them.
