Chapter 123 A Blessing in Disguise
Abigail placed the items in the trunk.
“If you have something to say, just say it here.”
Anthony frowned when he saw she had no intention of keeping
Felix out of the conversation.
He stepped forward. “I need to talk to you alone.”
Abigail sighed in frustration but held her temper and stepped back with Anthony.
Felix glanced at the two of them through the rearview mirror and smirked..
“What is it? Hurry up. I need to get back and cook dinner.”
Making supplements wasn’t something that could be rushed.
Anthony’s frown deepened at her impatient tone.
“Abigail, are you really planning to cut all ties with me? Is that why you’re always so impatient when we talk?”
Abigail sighed. “I think I’ve been patient enough with you. Do you even realize we’re divorced? The fact that we’re still having this conversation is already more than enough.”
“I…” Anthony gritted his teeth before continuing, “I came to ask you–were you at the scene of that viral suicide case today?”
Chapter 123 A Blessing in Disguise
“Yes. So, what does that have to do with you?”

Anthony’s expression grew serious. “You’re practicing as a lawyer again? That’s impossible. How could you possibly be a lawyer? Didn’t you fail the certification exams?”
Abigail let out a cold laugh.
“Mr. Robinson, let me clarify something for you. The reason I didn’t take the certification exams all these years wasn’t because I couldn’t pass, but because I didn’t have the time or energy.”
Anthony chuckled mockingly. “Do you think just anyone can pass the exams? You’ve been a housewife for years–how could you possibly pass?”
Abigail was already used to Anthony looking down on her like
this.
She didn’t even bother arguing with him anymore.
“So, did you come here just to insult me?”
“I’m not that petty. I came to tell you to stop working as a lawyer and to quit doing anything related to law altogether.”
Abigail found this utterly ridiculous.
“Did I hear that right? Are you giving me an order or making a request?”
A flicker of anger appeared on Anthony’s face.
“I’m informing you.”
Chapter 123 A Blessing in Disguise Abigail couldn’t help but scoff.
“Informing me? And what exactly is your position here? My ex–husband?”
“I…” For a moment, Anthony was speechless. It was clear he hadn’t yet detached himself from his former role as Abigail’s
husband.
Abigail pressed her advantage.
“Let me remind you one last time, Anthony–we’re divorced. What I choose to do for work has nothing to do with you. It’s my decision, and you have no right to command me, let alone ‘inform‘ me of anything.”
Anthony’s frustration turned to embarrassment.
“Even if you don’t care about yourself, shouldn’t you at least think of Marcus? You know how many enemies that lawyers make. If you end up in danger, fine–but what if Marcus gets. dragged into it too?”
Abigail understood what Anthony was trying to say.
It was true–being a lawyer often meant making enemies.

Many lawyers were threatened or harassed by opposing clients after winning cases.
But that didn’t give him the right to use it as a threat against her.
“I’ll take care of my own safety. As for Marcus, you have custody, so my work won’t affect him. If you’re really so

With that, Abigail decided she had no more to say to him.
She turned and started to walk away.

Anthony saw Abigail’s dismissive attitude and gritted his teeth in frustration.
“Abigail! Michelle and I are about to get engaged. Are you really not going to…”
Before Anthony could finish his sentence, Abigail stopped and
cut him off.
“Well, congratulations. You’re finally marrying your dream girl -no regrets for the rest of your life. And congrats to Marcus too. -he finally gets the mom he wants. I won’t ruin your wedding by showing up. Let me just wish you both a lifetime of happiness and plenty of kids.”
With that, Abigail turned and walked away.
She left Anthony standing there alone.
He could only watch as Abigail drove off with Felix.
A hollow feeling washed over him.
Anthony felt like he had mustered all his courage, only for it to hit a soft wall of indifference.
He had tried using this as his trump card to ignite even a shred of jealousy or concern in Abigail.
But after all that, he realized there wasn’t a hint of panic in her

Even though he had already seen that Abigail was serious this

But when she spoke her blessings without hesitation, Anthony still felt an unexplainable rage rise in him.
He angrily kicked a trash can by the side of the road.
Then, he got into his car and sped off.
After parking the car, Abigail and Felix took the elevator upstairs.
It was then that Abigail noticed the faint smile lingering on Felix’s face.
“Your hand doesn’t hurt anymore? You look way too happy,” Abigail teased.
Felix raised an eyebrow. “You wouldn’t understand.”
A blessing in disguise.
Once they got home, Abigail immediately started the supplement and began preparing dinner.
Over an hour later, she had finished preparing four dishes and the supplement.
She even invited Vivian and Vanessa to join them for dinner.
As soon as Vanessa stepped in and saw Felix’s injuries, she immediately recalled the events she had seen on her phone earlier.

“Mr. Rowe, you were so impressive today. You have no idea how much I admire you!”
Although Felix tried to hold back, the smugness on his face was impossible to hide.
Vivian asked, “Why did that girl get to the point of wanting jump today?”
Felix briefly explained the details of the case and the verdict. from the first trial to Vivian and Vanessa.
Both of them frowned, and Vanessa’s face immediately went. pale with shock.
to
“Are the man’s family a bunch of animals? How could they push a girl like that?”
Vanessa lowered her head. “She was clearly the victim, yet. this is how the court ruled… Should we even believe in the law
anymore?”
Abigail knew she was definitely thinking of her own case.
Abigail served the last dish and then took her seat.
“Vanessa, the law exists to uphold fairness and justice. But nothing in this world is perfect. Even the law has its flaws. That’s why it’s up to people to use their conviction to give the law meaning and enforce justice. No matter what, we must always try.”
Vanessa nodded, but it was clear her thoughts were elsewhere.

After a moment of silence, Vanessa finally spoke, “Felix, I saw the live stream today. One of your firm’s lawyers said they wouldn’t charge that girl for taking her case. Is that true?”
Felix nodded. “Once we’ve made that promise, there’s no way we’ll go back on it.”
“But…” Vanessa hesitated, looking embarrassed. “You take cases for free and even handle ones like mine and my mom’s that might not bring in any money. Isn’t that a losing deal? How does your firm even make money?”
