Chapter 133 How Long Have You Been Living Together?
Felix stood at the doorway, one arm in a sling, his hair a disheveled mess, and his eyes barely open.
He leaned against the doorframe, mumbling sleepily, “Why’s everyone up so early? We’ve got the morning off.”
He paused when no one responded. Slowly, he opened his eyes, and the scene before him brought him to an abrupt halt.
Abigail was frozen on the sofa, wide–eyed, with Laura sitting. beside her, equally stunned.
Charles stood near the living room, close to the bedroom door, looking just as shocked.
For a long moment, nobody moved.
Abigail suddenly jumped up, waving her hands in panic.
Felix, realizing the gravity of the situation, quickly straightened, using his free hand to smooth down his hair.
“Mr. Taylor, Mrs. Taylor, good morning… What brings you here so early?” Felix’s voice was unusually formal, tinged with
nervousness. –
Charles glanced at Felix, then at Abigail, his expression grim.

Chapter 133 How Long Have You Been Livin… Abigail stammered, “Mom, Dad, it’s… it’s not what you think!”
She rarely stuttered, but now the words wouldn’t come out right.
Felix, for all his courtroom prowess, was at a loss for words, panic clear in his eyes.
Laura, noticing they were both in pajamas and still looked like they had just woken up, immediately jumped to conclusions.
After all, Felix was emerging from the bedroom.
No matter how Abigail and Felix tried to explain, they wouldn’t believe them now.
Laura’s smile deepened. “Oh? And what do you think we’re thinking?”
Abigail immediately recognized that knowing expression on her mother’s face. She groaned inwardly, realizing how things must. have looked.
Charles‘ face grew even more serious as he walked over to the couch and sat down, a frown deepening on his face.
“The two of you, come here. Now.”
Abigail couldn’t recall the last time her father looked so serious.
Her palms felt clammy as she shuffled forward.
Felix, visibly tense, followed and stood beside her like a chastised schoolboy.

Charles‘ voice carried an unmistakable authority.
Felix answered quickly, “Two days.”
Charles‘ frown deepened. “And when were you planning to tell
us?”
Felix hesitated, glancing at Abigail for help.
She sighed, realizing there was no way to make this sound less. suspicious. “Dad, we’re not living together the way you think. There’s nothing to tell because there’s nothing going on between
us.”
Laura patted Charles on the shoulder and whispered, “Relax. Felix is a good man. Don’t scare him off.”
Charles‘ expression didn’t soften.
He genuinely liked Felix and had no objections to Abigail dating
him.
But Abigail had just gotten divorced, and he felt that it was too soon for them to be living together.
After all, this could negatively affect Abigail’s reputation. As her father, he had to think about her future.
Felix, sensing Charles‘ concern, quickly clarified, “Mr. Taylor, Mrs. Taylor, there’s been a misunderstanding. Abigail and I aren’t living together. I live across the hall.”

Felix blinked at her insistence on drawing a clear line. He looked momentarily taken aback but said nothing.
Laura’s teasing smile faded as she realized they weren’t lying.
Charles‘ stern expression finally eased.
“Is that the truth?” he asked, his tone less harsh.
Felix nodded firmly. “Yes, sir. If you don’t believe me, I can take you to meet the two clients.”
Charles waved the idea off. “That won’t be necessary. But you two living under the same roof, even temporarily, isn’t appropriate. If you were in a relationship, it’d be a different. story. Since you’re not, you should be more mindful of the impression this gives.”
Felix agreed without hesitation. “You’re absolutely right. I’ll pack my things and move back to my apartment today.”
Abigail protested, stepping forward. “Dad! No one knows we’re staying together except you two. And Felix is injured. Having someone around to help him isn’t a bad thing.”
Charles and Laura finally noticed Felix’s arm in the sling.
Laura spoke first. “We saw the news yesterday. Your case caused quite a stir online. Felix, you did a wonderful job, but you need to take better care of yourself next time.”

Charles, however, remained firm. “If Felix needs someone to look after him, there’s a simple solution. Both of you pack your things and move back to our house. Your mother and I will take care of everything.”
He preferred having more people around rather than letting his daughter live alone with a man.
He felt that if word got out, it could damage Abigail’s reputation.
Abigail opened her mouth to argue, but Felix cut her off. “Thank you, Mr. Taylor. That’s very kind of you. I’ll start packing now.”
Without waiting for further discussion, Felix turned and went back to his room.
Abigail sighed, realizing her father wouldn’t budge. She reluctantly headed to her room to change.
As soon as the two disappeared, Laura nudged Charles.
“You could’ve been gentler with them. Don’t scare them off.”
Charles let out a deep breath. “I like Felix, and I can see he cares about Abigail. But they haven’t made their feelings clear yet. If they rush into things and it doesn’t work out, Abigail could get hurt again. I’m just trying to protect her.”
Laura nodded, understanding his concern.
“You’re right. Abigail’s first marriage was painful enough. I just hope this time, she finds the happiness she deserves.”
Chapter 133 How Long Have You Been Livin… Meanwhile, Anthony and Michelle had just wrapped up their wedding photoshoot.
Anthony insisted on keeping things simple, only taking a few basic shots.
Michelle, eager to move the wedding along, didn’t argue.

Diana was still asleep. Anthony frowned, noticing she’d been sleeping unusually long hours lately.

Recently, Diana had often slept in until noon, and it had become especially noticeable these past few days.
Whenever he asked Diana about it, she claimed she felt fine and actually felt more relaxed and comfortable.
Anthony didn’t think much of it.
Michelle went upstairs to wake Diana, telling her they needed to discuss the wedding date and that they’d pick up Marcus from kindergarten and go out as a family to celebrate.
