Chapter 14 I Wish You Happiness
In Abigail’s mind, Anthony had never struck her as a particularly patient person.
In fact, every time she asked him to take a photo, he would insist he wasn’t good at it.
But watching him now, capturing Michelle’s joy with such care, Abigail realized that his impatience had never been about her; it was simply his own struggle with self–doubt.
He didn’t dislike amusement parks; he just didn’t enjoy going with her.
Abigail pulled her gaze away from the scene, suddenly feeling a bit queasy at the sight of her steak.
When Felix returned from the restroom, his complexion had improved somewhat, but it was clear that he wouldn’t be able to tackle any more thrill rides today.
“Let’s check out that new maze over there,” Abigail said, trying to lift the mood.
Felix, always quick on his feet, nodded. “Your birthday, your rules. I’m in.”
They wrapped up their meal in a hurry and headed over to the
maze.

Meanwhile, Anthony and Michelle had just stepped off the carousel and were studying the amusement park map.
“Look, there’s the new maze,” Michelle said, pointing it out.

“Sure, let’s go,” Anthony replied, and they made their way to the maze together.
Abigail wasn’t particularly fond of complicated things; getting lost in a maze felt like a hassle.
Though there weren’t many people inside, the staff enforced a rule that prevented two people from entering together, so as soon as they stepped in, Abigail and Felix were separated.
The maze had a horror theme, but the decorations were so over–the–top and fake that Abigail found it hard to be scared.
Just as she was about to turn around for the sixth time after hitting a dead end, she unexpectedly collided with Michelle, who was entering the maze.
“Oh, sorry!” she started to say, but the words died in her throat when she recognized Michelle’s face.
The warmth in Michelle’s eyes vanished as she regarded Abigail coldly.
“Abigail, really? You’re pulling out all the stops. You say you want to divorce Anthony, yet here you are, trying to bump into him at an amusement park.”

Abigail wasn’t surprised by Michelle’s sharp tone; she had seen this side of Michelle before.
Not wanting to engage in a pointless argument, Abigail attempted to sidestep her and leave, but Michelle blocked her
way.
“Listen, Abigail, you might want to give up on this ridiculous charade. Anthony doesn’t love you; he’s always loved me. If I hadn’t gone abroad, do you really think you’d have a chance at being Mrs. Robinson?”
Abigail knew Michelle was looking for a fight. She had initially hoped to avoid confrontation, but if Michelle wanted to stir the pot, then she wouldn’t back down.
Abigail halted and turned to face her.
“Honestly, I’d almost forgotten about your overseas escapade. Remember when Anthony almost got crippled? You vanished just when he needed you, and now that he’s back on his feet and thriving, here you are.”
Michelle scoffed. “And? No matter what I do, Anthony will always forgive me.”
Abigail couldn’t help but chuckle. “Well, good luck with that. I genuinely wish you both happiness.”
“If you really want us to be happy, you should cut ties with Anthony completely instead of playing this game of cat and

mouse while holding onto the title of Mrs. Robinson,” Michelle
retorted.
Abigail raised an eyebrow. “You should really be saying that to Anthony. After all, he’s the one who’s dragging his feet about getting a divorce.”
With that, Abigail pushed past Michelle, determined to leave.
But Michelle wasn’t done. “Hey, Abigail, isn’t today your birthday?”
Abigail paused in her tracks.
A smirk crept onto Michelle’s face, her eyes gleaming with triumph.
“And just like every year, Anthony isn’t with you today. He canceled work to be with me, and he didn’t even bother to say ‘Happy Birthday‘ to you.”
Abigail could sense the smugness in Michelle’s tone.
In the past, such taunts would have sent her into a fury, but now, she simply didn’t care.
Without looking back, Abigail replied, “I’m getting a divorce. Why would I care about a birthday wish from him?”
With that, she turned on her heel and walked away, leaving Michelle fuming behind her.

“Just wait, Abigail! Anthony will be mine sooner or later, and even your son will have to call me ‘Mom‘!” Michelle shouted, her voice echoing in the maze.
Meanwhile, Anthony was growing increasingly frustrated with the maze. To him, it felt like a pointless exercise, a chaotic waste of time where logic had no place.
After what felt like the hundredth dead end, he kicked the wall in irritation and turned to find a new path.
That was when he caught a glimpse of someone familiar- Abigail, slipping through an entrance behind him.
His brow furrowed in surprise as he quickened his pace, eager to confirm it was really her.
But by the time Anthony reached the spot, she had vanished, ast if she were a mirage.
Rubbing his temples, Anthony felt his annoyance deepen.
He had barely registered what was happening when Michelle suddenly dashed into his arms.
“Anthony! I finally found you! This place is so scary; can you take me out?” she whimpered, her eyes wide with feigned terror.
“Relax, it’s all just props,” he said, trying to keep his patience intact as he patted her back.
Snuggling against him, Michelle put on a helpless act that was
Chapter 14 I Wish You Happiness almost endearing.
“I feel safe with you, Anthony.”
He didn’t reply, simply guiding her toward the exit.

Not long after parting ways with Michelle, Abigail emerged from the maze, where Felix was waiting at the entrance.
It was clear he had a better sense of direction than she did.
Noticing her pale complexion, he handed her a cup of milkshake without asking questions.
“I heard there’s a fireworks show at the castle. Want to check it out?” he suggested.
Abigail nodded, and they headed in the direction of the castle.
As they got closer, the crowd thickened, but they managed to find a nearby bench where they had a decent view of the
dad fireworks without being too cramped.
Just as they settled in, a group of young girls passed by, chattering excitedly.
“Did you hear? Today’s fireworks show is supposed to be spectacular! I heard a rich kid rented the whole place just to impress his girlfriend,” one girl gushed.
“Really? That’s so romantic! I heard the CEO of the Robinson Group brought his girlfriend to the amusement park today.

Could it be him?” another chimed in.
“The CEO? Isn’t he married? Where’d this girlfriend come from?” a third girl questioned.

“Didn’t you hear? They’re in the middle of a divorce. The girlfriend is his childhood sweetheart!” the first girl replied, her voice dripping with intrigue.
As the girls continued their gossip, Felix kept an eye on Abigail, noticing her expression change.
To his surprise, she suddenly burst into laughter.
“I thought people usually cried in these situations. I didn’t expect you to laugh,” Felix remarked, raising an eyebrow.
Abigail shook her head, a smile still on her face. “What’s there to cry about? Free fireworks? That’s something to celebrate!”
What girl wouldn’t love a bit of romance? Abigail had once dreamed of Anthony surprising her with thoughtful gestures.
But now, as she faced the reality of their impending divorce, she found herself watching him create surprises for another woman instead.
