Chapter 21 Meet Your Requirements

Felix’s office was very spacious and bright with a floor–to–ceiling window.
He was working at his desk, which was placed right in front of the floor–to–ceiling window. He glanced up, saw Abigail coming in, and immediately put down the documents in his hand.
“You’re here.”
Abigail walked over and saw a sentence written on the wall near the door.
[Defend justice regardless of difficulties.]
The words were made of red three–dimensional boards, which seemed somewhat out of tune with the classical decoration of the entire room.
But Abigail was slightly stunned.
Some distant memories suddenly came to her.
When Abigail was choosing her major, her family actually wanted her to study finance so that she could manage their family business in the future.

But she had an almost paranoid persistence and love for the law.
So when filling out her application, Abigail chose law as her major without telling her parents.
She had a long argument with her family because of this matter.
Later, she was admitted to law school as she had wished, and the title of her first class was this sentence.
Felix stood up, leaned casually on the desk, and stared at Abigail with his arms folded across his chest.
“Why, any ideas?”
Abigail finally came back to her senses. Then, she forced a smile, stepped to the sofa, and placed the lunch boxes on the coffee table.
Felix walked over and sat down. “I hear from Amy that your cooking skills are excellent. I can finally have a taste today.”
“I’m really sorry. Every time I invited you to dinner, there were always unexpected situations.”
Felix didn’t respond. He opened the first layer of the lunch box, and the smell of grilled fish wafted over.
He opened the second layer and raised his eyebrows at the fragrance of filet mignon.
“It smells good. Have you had lunch? Do you want to eat it with

me?”

Abigail didn’t refuse. She sat down opposite him and opened all the lunch boxes.
There were four dishes in total, all of which were delicious.
“Have you dealt with your family issues?”
Abigail nodded. “No problem for now.”
“I have already helped you file for divorce. He should receive a call from the court soon. Be prepared.”
Abigail nodded. “I haven’t asked you about your lawyer’s fees.”
Felix couldn’t help but chuckle, “Didn’t Amy tell you?”
Abigail shook her head. “Amy mentioned it costs a lot to hire you.”
“What did she mean? It’s annoying, but I do charge a very high price.”
Abigail didn’t have much money. It would be affordable when she could get a share of the property if the lawsuit won.
Probably guessing her concerns, Felix smiled, “But don’t worry. I will accept payment after the case is over. I will definitely win this time.”
She finally breathed a sigh of relief. She nodded and was about

to speak when someone knocked on the door.

A woman in business attire came in with a folder in her hand.
“Mr. Rowe, this is the list of people who have applied to be your assistant. The personnel have already done a preliminary screening. Take a look. If you think they are all right, we will notify them to come for the interview tomorrow.”
Felix took the folder. The woman cast a glance at Abigail and then turned away.
He read the folder carefully and then frowned.
“What’s wrong? Are you not satisfied?”
Felix shook his head. “They are somewhat different from the candidates I expected. You might give me some advice.”
Although Abigail felt that this was a bit inappropriate, he had already handed her the folder, so she took it over.
“These are excellent. They all graduated from famous domestic universities and have studied abroad.”
Felix shook his head. “No. With overseas study experience, they will naturally choose to be legal advisors for large companies or work in courts and procuratorates. Applying for my firm is just a transition, and I can’t keep them.”
Thinking that he had a point, Abigail continued to scan through the folder.

“These are good. They are from prestigious domestic
universities and have work experience. They probably won’t change jobs in the short term.”

Felix shook his head again. “People with work experience always
think they are very capable and wish they could earn a million dollars a month. I can’t afford that.”
Abigail flipped through the folder. “These two applicants are not bad, fresh graduates from well–known universities.”
Felix shook his head again. “No. Delicate fresh graduates are simply not capable of being assistants.”
Abigail put the folder on the table. “These applicants don’t meet your requirements. What do you want?”
Felix set down his fork, thought for a while, and said seriously, “The applicant should have graduated from a prestigious university with little work experience, an urgent need for a job, and a passion for law.”
Abigail beamed with joy.
“Such an applicant is right in front of you.”
Felix seized her up. “You?”
Abigail nodded, put down her fork, and seemed to become immediately serious, as if she were being interviewed.

Felix shook his head in embarrassment. “Being my assistant is not an easy job. I am very picky.”
Abigail knew that an assistant was responsible for work matters. and some trivial matters in life.
However, she was very confident.
“Mr. Rowe, I think you shouldn’t underestimate a woman who has been a full–time mother for several years. Since I can take good care of my son, it won’t be challenging for me to look after you.”
Stunned by her words, Felix couldn’t help but laugh.
your
“What you said makes perfect sense. Why don’t you submit resume to the human resources department and come for an interview tomorrow?”
Abigail used to worry about getting a job.
After graduation, she became a full–time mother and had no work experience at all. As a result, she was unable to pass the entry requirements of many companies.
But to her surprise, there was such a coincidence that a meal would lead to an interview.
And she had just glanced around and found that the working

Trying her best to suppress her excitement, Abigail immediately
wrote a resume and sent it to the human resources staff of
Felix’s law firm after returning home in the afternoon.
Soon, she received a notice for an interview tomorrow.
Abigail felt both worried and thrilled about her first job.
She rummaged in her wardrobe for something to wear for her interview tomorrow, but her clothes of late years had been of a more homely and casual style, and they were not quite suitable.
Therefore, Abigail went to the mall, intending to buy a professional outfit for her interview.
Entering a store selling professional clothing, she had her eye on a black suit at first sight. The top was a short jacket. Although the style was simple, the design was very attractive.
Inside was a white shirt with gold embroidery. The combination of black and gold was very elegant.
There was a pair of bell–bottom pants that went well with a pair of black heels with a red sole.
Abigail walked over and touched the fabric, which was found to be soft and comfortable.
“Miss, you have a good taste. This is our new style for this season. Would you like to try it?”
