Chapter 34 I Have a New Mom
He started pulling her out of the room.

Abigail lost her balance and almost fell, but she quickly righted herself and yanked her hand free from Anthony’s grasp.
“What are you doing!”
Grace, seeing this, immediately stood up and blocked Abigail with her small body, glaring at Anthony.
“Bad man! Don’t touch Ms. Taylor!”
Anthony shot Grace a cold smile and then turned back to Abigail, his expression icy.
“Abigail, you’ve really lost it. I don’t want to argue in front of the kids, so come with me now.”
Abigail understood Anthony’s temper. If she didn’t go, he would surely cause more trouble, and she didn’t want to scare Grace.
She bent down, her expression soft as she looked at Grace.
“Grace, be good and wait for me here, okay? I’ll be right back.”
Grace was very obedient. Upon hearing that, she sat down on the chair obediently.
Then, Abigail entered the hallway with Anthony.
As soon as they entered the hallway, Abigail barely steadied herself when Anthony shoved her against the wall.
“What are you doing?! Let go of me! This is a kindergarten. Have you lost your mind?”
Abigail struggled, trying to pull away from him, but Anthony’s grip was too strong. She didn’t succeed.
“I think the one who’s lost it is you. We can argue all we want, but why drag the kids into it? Why make a scene in front of everyone? What will Marcus think of you? How will he have any face left after today?”
Abigail found his words laughable. He cared about face now?
Where was that concern when Marcus had publicly mocked her before? He hadn’t even uttered a word then.
“I’m not making a scene. I’m just telling the truth. Our divorce. case is going to court tomorrow. Do you still think I’m joking? Marcus is going to find out, and he’s probably relieved that we’re splitting up, isn’t he?”
“You!” Anthony’s face darkened as his grip tightened on her wrist. The pressure was so intense that Abigail thought her wrist might break.
She couldn’t understand them. When she focused entirely on them, they ignored her, even mocked her.

Now that she was trying to move on and not engage with them, they came looking for her attention.
But there was no use trying to take back what had already gone.
Abigail stomped hard on Anthony’s foot. He yelped in pain, loosening his grip instantly.
Abigail seized the moment and pulled herself away.
“I’m not obligated to cater to your and Marcus‘ feelings every day.”
With that, she turned to walk away. Before leaving the hallway, she added, “See you in court tomorrow. Don’t skip it, or I’ll lose all respect for you.”
With that, she walked out, leaving Anthony alone, clutching his foot in pain.
Looking at the clearly visible footprints on the black leather shoes, he slammed his fist against the wall in frustration.
“Insane. Absolutely insane!”
The sports day started soon after. The parents sat in the stands while the teachers prepared the kids for the events,
After a few performances, the competition finally began.
The first event was the three–legged race.

One parent and one child would have one leg tied together and race to the finish line. The team that crossed the line first would
win.
Michelle quickly changed Marcus into his sports clothes and prepared to join the race with him. Meanwhile, Marcus sat in the stands, glaring at Abigail as she calmly helped another child prepare for the event.
He couldn’t believe that Abigail was spending her time with someone else’s child and not with him. How could a woman like
her ever deserve to be a mother?
Marcus and Michelle tied their legs together and got ready. Marcus was full of confidence.
“Michelle, we have to win! I want to show her that we’re the best
and that we have more teamwork than she does. I’ll make her regret helping other kids!”
Michelle understood that Marcus was trying to provoke Abigail, and she was willing to go along with it.
She nodded, and they both got into position.
On the other side, Abigail was preparing with Grace.
“Grace, when I say one, you step with your right leg. When I say two, you step with your left leg. Follow the rhythm, and we’ll run together, okay?”

Grace held her hand and nodded obediently. “Okay! I believe in you!”
At the sound of the whistle, the race began.
Michelle and Marcus had great synchronization and raced ahead. A few teams stumbled and fell because they misstepped.
But Abigail and Grace, chanting “one, two, one, two,” slowly found their rhythm and started to speed up.
By the time they reached the final stretch, only Marcus and Grace’s teams were in the lead. Other teams had fallen far behind.
Abigail and Grace didn’t even glance at Marcus and Michelle. They focused entirely on their own pace, steadily picking up speed.
Marcus, on the other hand, started to panic. Eager to catch up, he tried to run faster.
But Michelle wasn’t able to keep up with him, throwing their coordination off. After only a few more steps, they both stumbled and fell to the ground.
When Marcus tried to get up and continue, he saw that Abigail and Grace had already crossed the finish line and were happily jumping and celebrating.
Marcus, feeling defeated, glared at Abigail. He was so upset that he even lost some of his enthusiasm toward Michelle.

Anthony, watching Abigail celebrate with Grace, felt the blood drain from his face.
Michelle noticed the way they were staring at Abigail and immediately sensed something was off.
She simply carried Marcus and walked to Anthony.
“Marcus, it’s all my fault. Don’t worry, we’ll win the next event, okay?”
Marcus nodded reluctantly, and Anthony gave Michelle a pat on the shoulder.
“You did your best. If anyone should be blamed, it’s Abigail. The ingrate, turning her back on her own son to help someone else’s child.”
Marcus eagerly nodded in agreement. Michelle couldn’t help but smirk inside at their shared disdain for Abigail.
Abigail and Grace won first place in the first event, and the prize was a doll.
Grace’s first reaction after receiving the doll was to hug Abigail tightly, giving her a kiss on the check.
“Ms. Taylor, thank you! This is my first time winning a prize in a parent–child sports day!”
Abigail, who had been smiling happily, froze in place as Grace

kissed her.

Grace, thinking that Abigail was upset, immediately pulled back, her smile faltering.
“Ms. Taylor, I’m sorry! I was just too happy!”
Abigail snapped out of her daze and smiled as she hugged Grace back, planting a kiss on her cheek.
“I’m not mad. I’m just a little… overwhelmed.”
She thought, “It turns out that accompanying a child to receive a prize is such a joyous and fulfilling experience.”
In the past, she accompanied Marcus. Though they always won and received prizes, Marcus only cared about the competition, the victory, and showing off in front of the other kids.
So, if she won, he would be happy. And if she lost, he would throw a tantrum.
But today, for the first time, Abigail felt the joy of being a
mother.
Holding Grace to rest, Abigail wiped the sweat from Grace’s
face.
Watching Abigail take such tender care of another child, Marcus felt an odd, possessive feeling wash over him.
His fists clenched tightly in anger.

Anthony, too, looked cold and furious. He almost got up to drag Abigail away.
At that moment, the boy who had mocked Marcus carlier came
running over.
“Marcus, your mom is someone else’s mom now! You even lost the race! Your mom doesn’t want you anymore.”
Marcus‘ face flushed red with rage. He shot a glare at Abigail.
He thought, “If she doesn’t want me, then fine. I don’t want her either!”
With that thought, Marcus glared at the boy again, then turned to Michelle and threw his arms around her.
“I don’t want her as my mom anymore. I have a new mom! I’m not a child nobody wants!”
Michelle couldn’t stop herself from smiling inside, but on the outside, she feigned a look of sympathy and turned to Anthony.
