Chapter 45 A Top–tier Workhorse
But sitting next to Felix felt strangely awkward for Abigail.
The game started with Gavin. He picked up a napkin with his mouth and passed it over to Felix.
When Felix tore it, only half of the paper was left.
As Felix turned his head to look at Abigail, she froze.
It wasn’t that the paper was small, but the proximity required to hold it with their mouths felt a little too close for comfort.
Watching everyone else dive into the game with enthusiasm, Abigail felt a twinge of hesitation. If she held back, she’d only ruin the fun.
Just as she was about to get on with it, Felix raised an eyebrow at her, clearly waiting for her to act. Abigail, gritting her teeth, leaned in and took the paper from him.
As she tilted her head to take the paper, she could feel Felix’s breath against her face, so close it almost felt like a whisper on her skin.
Her cheeks flushed, and she wasn’t sure whether it was the alcohol kicking in or the heat of his breath that caused her heart
to race.

She passed the paper to Amy quickly, but because she wasn’t as strong with the tear, only a tiny bit of the paper made it into Amy’s mouth.
The group erupted into laughter, and Amy froze, mumbling through the small piece left in her mouth. “Abigail, you’re such a good friend.”
Abigail couldn’t help but feel a little embarrassed, biting her lip at the teasing.
“It’s just a game, come on, pass it on before this little scrap gets all soggy with your spit,” Felix teased, clearly enjoying the
moment.
Amy shot Felix a glare before turning her attention to Justin.
Justin had been smiling, but when he saw the tiny piece of paper hanging from Amy’s mouth, barely bigger than a fingernail, he froze.
The tall, strong guy, usually so composed, was blushing deeply.
Amy, sensing his discomfort, shot him a look. “Hurry up, don’t chicken out. I don’t want to lose.”
But Justin hesitated, unsure how to proceed, making the moment even more awkward.
The others immediately jumped into the playful teasing.
“Come on, Amy’s not afraid, what are you so shy about? Just
Chapter 45 A Top–tier Workhorse take it already!” Sunny chimed in.

Gavin, with a mischievous grin, added, “Well, if it comes to it, just give her a kiss. We’re all adults here, no big deal.”
That only made Justin more flustered, and he seemed to shrink even more under their teasing.
As he hesitated, the paper started to feel more and more soaked with saliva.
Amy, frustrated, spat it out on the floor and grabbed her drink.
“Forget it, I’ll take my punishment,” she muttered.
She was about to down her drink in one go when Justin snatched it away.
“This drink’s too strong. You’re a lady, you shouldn’t be drinking this much,” he said firmly.
Amy was immediately irked. “Mr. Moore, I’m not your prisoner. Why should I listen to you? Quit pretending to be all caring. If you’d just played the game, I wouldn’t have lost.”
She reached for the glass, but Justin was faster. He took the drink and downed it in one go.

Gavin and Sunny exchanged excited looks, practically cooing with delight.
Amy didn’t expect him to finish the strong drink so easily, and
Chapter 45 A Top–tier Workhorse somehow, seeing him do it made her anger subside a little.

After setting the empty glass down, Justin surveyed the group.
“Sorry, but I don’t think this game is quite for me. I’ll let you all enjoy it. I’ll take my leave now. Goodbye.”
With that, Justin turned and left, leaving the group in stunned silence.
“Wait, what? He’s leaving already?” Sunny said, a bit disappointed.
Honestly, after watching Justin protect Amy from drinking more, she thought the two of them made a pretty good pair.
Gavin raised an eyebrow and glanced at Amy.
“Well, looks like Amy ran into a tough one. He wasn’t swayed by your charm, and he didn’t ask for your WhatsApp number. Looks like you failed your mission–you’ll have to drink up as punishment.”
Amy was honestly a little annoyed by that. It was her first time losing like this.
Still, she figured it was just Justin being a bit awkward, so she rolled her eyes, picked up a drink, and knocked it back in one go.
“Fine, fine. I own a bar, I’m not afraid of a drink.”
For the first time, Abigail truly felt the allure of the nightlife. She

had to admit, there was something almost intoxicating about it.
After a drink or two, she started to feel a little light–headed, that pleasant buzz making her bolder and more carefree.
As the night went on and the alcohol flowed, Amy dragged everyone onto the dance floor to join in the fun.
When they first entered the club, seeing the crowd of strangers dancing together, Abigail had been completely confused.
How could so many people, who didn’t know each other at all, just freely dance like that?
But after a few more rounds of drinks, she finally understood. This was the nightlife Felix had told her about.
Abigail, like a kitten stepping into a world of joy, happily followed Amy’s movements, copying her steps with enthusiasm.
She wasn’t sure how much time had passed, only that she was covered in sweat from all the dancing.
Finally, the night of new experiences came to an end.
Gavin and Sunny left together in a cab, while Felix and Abigail, both having had a bit too much to drink, called for a designated driver.
Amy, however, was still in high spirits and decided to stay out a little longer.

Felix helped the tipsy Abigail into the car, giving the driver the address.
Abigail felt a little dizzy. At first, she stared out the window at the chaotic traffic, but then, without warning, her gaze shifted and settled directly on Felix.
“What are you staring at? Do I have something on my face?” Felix asked, feeling a bit uneasy under her gaze.
Abigail grinned mischievously, shifting closer to him.
“Boss.”
Felix blinked in confusion. “What did you call me?”
“Boss,” she repeated, her voice teasing. “Don’t worry, I’ll be at work on time tomorrow. Even though I’ve had a bit to drink, I’m still clear–headed. Just don’t dock my pay.”
Felix had expected her to act differently. He had figured that after the tension in the courtroom earlier that day, Abigail might need some time to unwind. He’d imagined her getting emotional, maybe even crying on the floor, venting about her ex, Anthony, or her failed marriage.
But this? This was a surprise. She was nearly drunk and still worried about work and her salary.
He couldn’t help but laugh at her.
“Abigail, do you know what people call office workers these
Chapter 45 A Top–tier Workhorse days?”
Abigail, still a little dazed, shook her head.

“They call them ‘workhorses‘,” Felix said patiently, watching her. “Do you know what’s going on inside the mind of a top–tier workhorse?”
Abigail shook her head again, still unsure where he was going with this.
“It’s like, they’re so miserable that sometimes they just want to die, but never once think about skipping work the next day. Congratulations, Abigail. You’ve barely started working, and you’ve already evolved into a top–tier workhorse. Your adaptability is off the charts.”
Abigail, in her drunken haze, didn’t even realize he was teasing. her.
Instead, she just giggled, which made Felix laugh too.
The next morning, Abigail was jolted awake by the sound of her alarm. It was only seven a.m.
