Chapter 63 The Cancer Came Back
“A few days ago, I hadn’t been feeling well, so I went in for a check–up. The doctor told me the cancer came back.”
“What?” Anthony’s face tightened in shock.
“But it was supposed to be cured! How could it relapse?”
Michelle gave a bitter smile and shook her head. “Cancer is one of the easiest diseases to relapse. I’ve been so caught up in work all these years, barely taking care of myself. It’s not really surprising.”
Anthony’s heart ached, and he didn’t know what to say.
Michelle noticed the concern in his eyes, and a small, satisfied smile crept onto her face.
If he still felt something for her, then there was still hope. As long as there was love, she could find a way back to him.
Tears started to fall from her eyes again, her expression full of regret.
“Anthony, it’s okay. I’ve gotten used to it. I fought this illness on my own when I was abroad. It was painful, but I made it through. Now that you’re here, I know I can get through this
too.”

Anthony took her hand, his voice full of determination. “I’ll find. the best doctors. You’ll get better. I’ll make sure of it.”
Michelle shook her head gently. “My condition’s complicated. The doctor I saw abroad knows my case better than anyone. I’ve been in touch with him for treatment. Anthony, I’m just really tired… Could you take me somewhere to rest?”
Without a moment’s hesitation, Anthony helped her to her feet.
“Come on. I’ll take you to a hotel.”
Just as they reached the door, Michelle started coughing again, her small frame shaking with each fit. Anthony’s heart clenched at the sight.
Without a second thought, he picked her up in his arms,
ignoring the shocked looks from the others in the office. He
carried her straight out, focusing only on getting her the rest she needed.
Michelle’s head rested on his chest, and she could feel the steady rhythm of his heartbeat.
The gossiping voices that had been buzzing around the office went silent as they watched the scene unfold, each person pretending they hadn’t seen a thing.
Once Anthony and Michelle were out of sight, the whispers started again.
“Did you see that? He locked the door and drew the blinds right

“Mr. Robinson is about to divorce, right? Looks like they’re getting back together.”
“Do you think that woman is the reason for the divorce?”

“You never know. They didn’t even try to hide it this time. Seems like they’re ready to make her the new Mrs. Robinson.”
“Too bad for Mrs. Robinson though. I once saw her while delivering some documents. She’s a total beauty, so gentle and kind.”
“Men are all the same. They always want what they can’t have.”
The crowd continued to gossip, some sneering under their breath.
On the other side, Anthony carefully helped Michelle into the underground garage.
He made sure she was comfortable in the passenger seat, buckled her up, and then draped his coat over her shoulders.
After a quick call to the hotel to reserve a suite, he started driving out.
Meanwhile, Abigail and Amy had been waiting outside for a while, munching on chocolate and chatting.

Suddenly, Abigail’s eyes narrowed as Anthony’s car appeared. She tensed up instantly.
“He’s coming out! Let’s go. Follow him!”
Amy didn’t need any further prompting. She put her chocolate down, stepped on the gas, and they started tailing him.
It wasn’t as simple as it seemed, though.
If they stayed too close, they’d risk getting noticed. Too far behind, and they might lose him at a red light.
But somehow, Amy was nailing the follow without a hitch.
Abigail couldn’t help but wonder if Amy had done this before. She was almost too good at it.
They soon found themselves in front of the hotel. They pulled into a spot and settled into the car, watching through the windows.
Sure enough, Anthony was holding Michelle in his arms, looking like he was both worried and caring, as they walked into the hotel together.
Amy slammed her hand on the steering wheel, and the horn blared out, startling Abigail. She quickly grabbed Amy’s arm and ducked down, trying to avoid being
seen.
Once they were sure Anthony and Michelle were inside, they finally relaxed.
Chapter 63 The Cancer Came Back Amy was still fuming, though.
“That bastard! He’s really sneaking around with her! I can’t believe it. He’s cheating right out in the open!”
Abigail knew Amy was just venting on her behalf.

But honestly, she wasn’t surprised by what she saw. Deep down, she had expected it.
“It’s fine, actually. Now I’ve got the proof I need. I’ll divorce him and take what’s mine.”
Amy nodded emphatically. “Exactly! He’s messed up, and now you get to take what’s yours. He doesn’t deserve a single thing!”
About ten minutes later, they made their move. Abigail and Amy got out of the car and went into the hotel.
At the front desk, Abigail walked up with a calm expression. “I’d like to check which room Anthony Robinson is staying in.”
The receptionist gave a polite smile. “I’m sorry, lady, but we can’t give out that information.”
Without hesitation, Abigail placed their marriage certificate on the counter.
“I’m his wife.”
The receptionist looked up in surprise, then quickly pulled up

the details on the computer. “Your husband is staying in Suite 1806.”
Abigail nodded.
The receptionist had clearly seen them enter together.
People loved gossip, and Abigail could practically feel the
receptionist’s curiosity. It was like she was waiting for Abigail to storm upstairs and create a scene.
But instead of reacting the way the receptionist might have hoped, Abigail turned and left.
Back in the car, she dialed the police.
“Hi, I’d like to report an illegal sexual transaction happening at a hotel.”
Just as Justin had predicted, the police responded quickly. They assured her they were sending someone over right away.
Now, they just had to wait in the car for the authorities to do their job.
Meanwhile, Anthony and Michelle, oblivious to the storm brewing outside, had just entered the suite.
Anthony gently laid her on the bed and was about to pull away when Michelle wrapped her arms around his neck. Their eyes locked, and the tension in the room was palpable.

Looking into her tear–filled eyes, Anthony felt a sharp pang in
his chest.

“Anthony, I’m so scared. What if the cancer really comes back, and I don’t have much time left? I’m afraid I’ll never see you again.”
Anthony’s heart softened. He stroked her hair gently.
“Don’t say that. As long as I’m here, nothing bad is going to happen to you.”
“Anthony, do you know how much I regret it? When I got sick, I chose to go abroad for treatment so I wouldn’t be a burden to you. I thought that if I came back cured, things would go back to the way they were… But I was wrong.”
