Chapter 65 Felix’s Care
Having been dragged to the police station and now exposed as being married, Anthony was fuming with anger and humiliation.
And Michelle couldn’t help but lower her head, feeling utterly embarrassed.
“What’s the big deal about being married? Does being married mean I can’t have a relationship? Is there a law that says cheating on your spouse is illegal and that you should
go to jail?”
The two police officers exchanged a quick glance but didn’t say another word.
A few moments later, another officer walked in and whispered something to the other two before stepping out.
The two officers stood up, finally addressing them. “We’ve confirmed that your relationship isn’t part of any illegal activity. Thanks for your cooperation.”
Anthony and Michelle were too frustrated to bother responding.
Clearly irritated, he stood up, grabbed Michelle’s hand, and stormed out.
As soon as the evidence of their affair was written down in the police report, Abigail let out a quiet breath of relief.

“Now with this evidence, let’s see how that jerk tries to wriggle out of this!” Amy muttered, her hands on her hips, glaring at the
door.
Abigail turned to Justin, gratitude in her eyes. “I can’t thank you enough for today. Once I finish the divorce stuff, I’ll definitely treat everyone to a meal.”
Neither Justin nor Amy objected.
Amy slapped her chest with a grin. “Of course! When you’ve gotten your fresh start, you plan it, and I’ll pay. Let’s all go out and have a good time!”
Justin smiled, his expression light. “Ms. Taylor, you’re really clever. So many women want a divorce but can’t find proof of their husbands‘ cheating. In the end, they have to swallow their pride. But you… you nailed it right off the bat.”
Abigail smiled back, though deep down, she wished she didn’t have to be this clever about something like this.
Amy patted Justin’s shoulder as if they were old friends.
“Abigail has always been sharp. You don’t get to be a top student without a little edge.”
Justin shifted awkwardly, his body stiffening when Amy touched his shoulder.
It was obvious he wasn’t used to casual physical contact,
especially with women.

It took a moment before Amy seemed to realize and quickly pulled back, putting some distance between them.
“Anyway, thank you again,” she said, turning back to Abigail with a smile. “Let’s go.”
After a quick goodbye to Justin, Amy drove Abigail to the hospital.
Back on the other side, Anthony had lost all interest, and Michelle had gotten what she wanted.

She simply needed to wait for the rift between Anthony and Abigail to deepen further.
After dropping Michelle off at her hotel to rest, Anthony, still worried about her health, stayed behind to keep her company.
Now that Abigail had the evidence, she was done with that disgusting place.
Once Amy caught up on some sleep, Abigail made her way back to the hospital.
When she walked into the ward, she found Felix and Charles chatting and laughing, while Laura sat on the couch, looking
content.
The nurses had tidied up the room, making everything look just right.

Abigail paused at the door for a second, taking in the sight before walking in..

“You’re back!” Laura greeted her warmly, rushing over to take the clean clothes from her hand.
Abigail turned to Felix, raising an eyebrow. “What are you doing here?”
Felix, a high–powered lawyer, was supposed to be constantly busy.
He casually sliced an apple. “It’s Saturday. Even workaholics need a break.”
Abigail’s eyes widened as she realized it was the weekend.
Felix cut the apple into small pieces and handed some to Charles, then offered the next slice to Abigail.
It was clear that both Laura and Charles adored him.
Abigail couldn’t help but wonder how Felix managed to win over her parents when she wasn’t around.
That evening, Anthony dropped Michelle off at Diana’s place.
Although he was still a bit concerned about her, Anthony’s relationship with Abigail was far from stable, so he ended up taking Marcus home despite Marcus‘ reluctance.
But when they got back, Abigail wasn’t there.

Lucy had already set the table. As soon as she saw them, she began serving dinner.

“Where’s Abigail?” Anthony asked, taking a seat with Marcus.
Without looking up, Lucy answered, “She’s gone.”
Anthony’s frown deepened. “Gone? Where’d she go?”
“She doesn’t tell me where she goes.”
The frustration was clear on Anthony’s face as he pulled out his phone and dialed Abigail’s number.
The first call went straight to voicemail, and he dialed again.
At that very moment, Abigail had just finished dinner with Charles and Laura, with Felix handling the takeout order.
Now, she was cleaning up the dishes, and her phone lay forgotten on the couch.
Once she was done tidying up, Charles glanced at the time and told her it was getting late, urging her and Felix to head home.
There wasn’t enough room at the hospital for too many visitors, and with Laura and the two nurses around, there were plenty of people to help.
Besides, he was recovering well and didn’t need so many people hovering around him.
Chapter 65 Felix’s Care
At first, Abigail had wanted to stay, but then she remembered she could prepare some soup for him to bring tomorrow. So, she decided to head out with Felix.
Sitting in the car, Abigail saw the missed calls from Anthony and guessed he’d noticed her absence when he got home.
She wasn’t in the mood to return his call.
He had been with another woman earlier in the day, and now he was trying to find her. The whole idea disgusted her.
Felix parked the car in front of a grocery store downstairs from her building.
She got out, but to her surprise, Felix followed her.
“I can get the groceries myself. You should go back. You’ve spent the whole day at the hospital. You must be exhausted.”
Felix raised a hand and gave her a light tap on the forehead. Abigail winced, a frown instantly forming.
“If I’m tired, I’ll head home to rest. I want to stretch my legs and keep you company while you shop,” he said, already walking inside.
Abigail had no choice but to follow him in.
It almost felt like he was her assistant or something.

After a bit of deliberation, Abigail picked out some ingredients for the soup she wanted to make.
When they reached the plant section, she was drawn to a pot of hydrangeas.
The pale blue petals were soft and refreshing.
Her home had been feeling a bit lifeless lately. Adding a plant or two might help.
So, she picked up the hydrangea on a whim.
Once the shopping was done, Abigail and Felix parted ways at the entrance, each heading back to their own place.
At home, she prepped the soup ingredients for tomorrow, placed the flowers on the balcony shelf, watered them, and tossed the clothes she’d brought back from the hospital into the washing machine.
By the time she was finished, it was already well past eleven.
She took a quick shower and climbed into bed, ready to sleep.
Just as she was closing her eyes, her phone buzzed with a message notification.
She picked it up and saw it was from Felix.
[Abigail, good night.]

Smiling to herself, Abigail quickly replied.
[Mr. Rowe, good night.]
Just as she was about to put her phone down, Anthony’s name flashed on the screen again.
