Chapter 74 Enlightenment About Romance
Felix looked at her and took another sip of wine. “Abigail, how much do you think I’m worth?”
Abigail had never encountered anyone bargaining like this before, leaving her momentarily speechless.
She couldn’t afford too much. But if she offered too little, he might be offended. After a long pause of hesitation, Abigail chose silence.
Felix noticed her struggle and found it increasingly amusing. “Is it really that hard to decide? Let me rephrase, how much do you intend to offer me?”
Abigail replied, “I’m not sure what the going rate is these days, but it must be quite high, right?”
Felix raised an eyebrow. “Aren’t you planning to get your qualifications and become a lawyer? If you don’t even know the market rate, how will you handle your cases?”
“I’ll learn as I go,” Abigail said, setting her glass down.
Felix tapped the rim of his glass. “Lawyers charge by the hour. You’re aware of that, aren’t you?”
Chapter 74 Enlightenment About Romance Abigail nodded. “Yes.”
Felix continued, “From the moment I took on

ur case until the trial ended this morning, how many hours do you think that was?”
Abigail froze. “That’s not how it works. We haven’t been
discussing the case the entire time…” Her voice trailed off, and her confidence was dwindling.
Felix noticed her guilty expression and couldn’t help but tease her, “But you never specified when the clock starts ticking.”
Abigail pressed her lips, momentarily at a loss for words.
Typically, when someone consulted a lawyer, the clock started from the beginning of the consultation, and payment was settled afterward. But it seemed they had never established an official timing.
Her uncertainty grew.
Seeing her look so flustered as she kept sipping her wine, Felix chuckled, “Since we started discussing this topic, you’ve already taken 12 sips of wine. With your tolerance, are you sure you can still communicate with me clearly?”
Abigail felt her cheeks heat up at his comment and quickly set her glass down.
Felix added, “Or you might have another option, Abigail. Maybe you don’t have to pay at all.”

Chapter 74 Enlightenment About Romance Abigail was taken aback. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to pay, but since there was a chance to avoid it, she had to ask, “What is it?”
As Felix met her eager gaze, a mischievous smile danced in his eyes. “Just make everything mine yours.”
Abigail blinked in confusion. “What do you mean?”
Felix lifted an eyebrow. “Think it over.”
Abigail realized she might have enjoyed her wine a bit too quickly, feeling the effects as her vision blurred slightly.
She started to sway, and her eyes lost focus, yet she still appeared to be pondering deeply.
Felix’s smile widened as he watched her.
Before he could do something, Amy rushed over, grabbed Abigail, and exclaimed, “Come on! Let’s go set off some fireworks!”
Before Abigail could recover, Amy pulled her toward the lawn, where everyone was ready to ignite fireworks,
Felix sat back and rolled his eyes at Amy’s interruption, then downed his drink in one go.
The fireworks lit up the sky beautifully.

Chapter 74 Enlightenment About Romance Abigail felt that since her last outing to the bar, she had started to embrace the joy of being tipsy, especially when she set off fireworks and the display seemed even bigger.
For a moment, she felt liberated, joyfully jumping around with fireworks in hand, laughing freely.
Felix lightly ran his fingers over the designs on his wine glass, his gaze fixed on Abigail.
Watching her carefree laughter made him realize that she should laugh and live without restraint.
This was the real Abigail, emerging like a butterfly from its cocoon–vibrant and breathtaking.
Gavin and Sunny set off fireworks while quietly observing Felix.
Noticing that Felix’s attention was solely on Abigail, they exchanged knowing glances.
In fact, they had suspected something was brewing between Felix and Abigail since their last visit to the bar. Now, their suspicions were confirmed.
Sunny was busy enjoying the festivities with everyone while. Gavin approached Felix, pouring him another glass of wine and filling his own as well.
“Did you finally become enlightened about relationships and develop some feelings for someone?” Gavin teased.

A smile spread across Felix’s lips. “My feelings for her haven’t changed.”
Gavin’s eyes widened in surprise. “You mean ‘her‘ is Abigail…”
Before he could finish, Felix interrupted him with a shushing gesture. “Shh. Some things are better left unsaid.”
Gavin’s eyes sparkled with excitement as he glanced at Abigail, but he respected Felix’s request and held his tongue.
Abigail, feeling a bit light–headed, waved over to Gavin and Felix. “Come join us!”
Gavin quickly pulled Felix up, and they blended into them.
Meanwhile, Anthony, who was waiting for Abigail back at the apartment, wore a growing scowl.
It was well past 10 o’clock, and Abigail still hadn’t returned. “Looks like she’s really letting loose after the divorce,” he thought.
Anthony was in frustration when Diana called and asked, “Michelle mentioned that you and Abigail are divorced?”
“Yes,” Anthony replied, his voice sounding hoarse.
Diana sounded pleased. “Where are you? Why are you just now sharing such good news?”
Anthony was aware that Diana had never been fond of Abigail,

and this disdain had only worsened since the Taylor family’s decline.
But he was not in the mood to hear Diana’s chatter. “I’m in a meeting,” he replied curtly.

Diana immediately switched to a stern tone. “Nonsense. How can you be in a meeting at this hour? Do you think I’m gullible? Are you with Abigail again?”
Anthony frowned and rubbed his temple. “Mom, I really don’t want to talk about this right now.”
Diana lowered her voice, sensing his irritation. “Anthony, I know you strive for perfection in everything, but the failure of your marriage isn’t solely your fault. Look at it as a chance to start anew. You know Michelle’s been waiting for you.”
Anthony had anticipated that Diana would want to set him up with Michelle now that he was divorced from Abigail. But at this moment, he only wanted to talk to Abigail.
Just then, he glanced up and spotted Abigail’s figure. He quickly hung up the phone.
