Chapter 80 Blissfully Ignorant
Diana said, “That bitch may always be a thorn in everyone’s side, but doesn’t she make great soup? At a time like this, you really should have more. It’s nutritious.”
Anthony’s expression instantly darkened as Diana brought up Abigail.
Michelle’s face mirrored a flash of awkwardness.
With both of them silent, Ryan stubbed out his cigarette and stepped forward with a sly grin. “Mrs. Robinson, didn’t you know? Abigail and Anthony got divorced.”
Anthony threw a pillow at Ryan, giving him a glare that clearly warned him to keep quiet.
However, the more Anthony resisted, the more Ryan wanted to push his buttons. It wasn’t every day Anthony showed a chink in his armor. It was too amusing to pass up.
However, Diana was unfazed. She said, “So what if they’re divorced? Abigail was head over heels for Anthony. Now that. he has come to his senses and finally dumped her, do you think she wouldn’t come running back the moment he beckons? Like a little lapdog, she’d still come to take care of him.”
Ryan had always known Diana wasn’t fond of Abigail, but her words still took him aback. She didn’t treat Abigail like her son’s

wife but more like a servant who could be ordered around on a
whim.
After all these years, Ryan couldn’t fathom how Abigail had endured this family.
Feeling embarrassed, Anthony frowned. “Mom, that’s enough.”
Michelle stepped forward, gently tugging Diana’s arm. “Why don’t we head out and get Anthony something to eat?”
But Diana wasn’t done yet. “Get food from outside? That stuff’s filthy! He’s always been eating out, which is why his stomach’s a mess. It’s only after years of Abigail’s cooking that he’s gotten somewhat better. Call her and tell her to stop being stubborn and bring over some soup.”
The more Diana went on, the darker Anthony’s face became.
Ryan stood to the side, thoroughly entertained by the farce. It seemed Anthony had only told them about the divorce but left out who initiated it. And Diana, blissfully ignorant, still thought Abigail was the same pushover who would jump at their commands without question.
“Mom! That’s enough.” Anthony’s voice was low, his irritation barely concealed.
“What’s this tone? I’m your mother! Do you think I’d ever harm you?” Diana shot back, clearly unwilling to back down.
Obviously, if Diana kept going, Anthony was about to lose it.

Ryan stepped in. “Mrs. Robinson, we already called Abigail carlier. She flat–out refused and told us not to bother her again.”
Anthony glared daggers at Ryan.
But Ryan looked smug, clearly enjoying himself. There was nothing better than watching his best buddy squirm.
Diana stared, incredulous. “What? Abigail dared to say that?”
Ryan said, “Exactly. And you probably don’t know, but Abigail was the one who asked for the divorce.”
Diana vaguely remembered Abigail stirring up talk about divorce a while back, but nothing had come of it since. Whenever she’d questioned Anthony about it, he’d dodged the topic entirely. She’d assumed Abigail was just throwing a
tantrum.
After all, Diana believed that leaving Anthony would be the death of Abigail. But now it seemed Abigail had been serious all along.
Diana turned to Anthony. “Is it true? Was it really Abigail who wanted the divorce?”
Anthony’s face had turned an alarming grim, clearly unwilling to answer. He had always carried himself with superiority, confident that Abigail would never truly leave him. And to be fair, everyone around him had thought the same. But now, reality had landed a solid slap on his face.

Anthony’s expression grew darker by the second, the tension in the room almost suffocating.
Sensing things were about to escalate, Michelle quickly grabbed Diana’s arm. “Diana, please, let’s stop talking about this. Anthony’s hungry. Let’s head out and grab him something to
eal.”
Before Diana could argue, Michelle tugged her out of the room.
Anthony instantly shot a resentful glare at Ryan, who had been thoroughly enjoying the show.
Sensing the danger, Ryan tiptoed toward the door, trying to
escape.
Before Ryan could make it out, Anthony grabbed an apple and hurled it at him furiously. It hit the door with a thud before falling to the floor.
Once outside the hospital room, Ryan’s mischief was far from over. He created a group chat with Morgan and Jason to share the drama.
The news immediately sparked a flurry of reactions.
Morgan: [What? Seriously? Abigail actually had the guts to leave?]
Jason: [This doesn’t seem like a joke. But Abigail actually dared to say something so harsh to Anthony?]

Morgan: [Didn’t Anthony always act like he didn’t care about Abigail? Then why’s he lying in a hospital with a stomach ulcer after the divorce?]
Smirking, Ryan typed back: [You guys just don’t get it. Love. What a beautiful disaster.]

After dragging Diana out of the hospital, Michelle finally slowed. her pace.
“Why are you pulling me away like this?” Diana huffed. “I still haven’t figured out what’s going on!”
Michelle smiled, “Divorce is never a happy thing. Anthony’s probably feeling miserable already. Let’s not add insult to injury.”
Diana was still fuming. She exhaled sharply. “Do you know what really happened? Was it truly Abigail who wanted the divorce?”
Michelle nodded. “Do you remember that man you saw dining with Abigail the other day?”
Diana nodded. “Of course, I remember! The moment I saw that bitch with him, I knew she was fooling around with some man behind Anthony’s back!”
Michelle sighed and shook her head. “That man is Abigail’s divorce lawyer. And… their relationship doesn’t seem strictly

professional. I’ve caught them together several times already.”
Diana’s anger flared. “I knew it! There’s no way that little tramp could suddenly want a divorce unless she had someone lined up. So, she’s been cheating on Anthony and found herself a replacement!”
Michelle wore an expression of pity as if genuinely heartbroken. for Anthony. “We both know what kind of person Abigail is. Let’s not bring this up in front of Anthony. He’s already feeling awful enough.”
It took Diana a long moment to calm down. Narrowing her eyes, she hissed, “That bitch! How dare she treat Anthony like this? He is too kind for his own good, but I’m not. If she thinks she can get away with this, she’s got another thing coming!”
Watching Diana grit her teeth in frustration, Michelle smiled. sinisterly. The memory of Abigail humiliating her outside the courthouse still stung, fueling her eagerness to see how long. Abigail’s defiance would last.

While tension bubbled on that side, the atmosphere elsewhere was more peculiar.
Abigail sat across from Felix, who lounged in his chair with one leg crossed over the other, casually eating soup. He didn’t look like the high–powered boss he was supposed to be.
Unable to hold back, Abigail finally spoke, “I’m starting to

seriously question what you’re paying me for. Are you sure you hired me as your assistant?”
Felix looked at her. “If you’re not my assistant, then what are you? You think I hired you to be my nanny?” Finishing one bowl, he casually ladled himself another, entirely unbothered by her frustration.
