My parents did what they said.
They signed Ashley up for a bunch of
extracurriculars.
Just to be fair, they put us in the same ones.
They hired a private tutor for her, too.
Ashley thought my parents would spoil her
like before.
She didn’t even try to learn anything.
The bad habits were too ingrained.
She went to shady clubs all the time, looking
for thrills.
I saw everything.
She smirked when she saw me training.
She tried to trip me up.
I caught her, and she got pissed.
“What are you, some goody–two–shoes?” she
sneered.
く
“No one’s watching. Who are you trying to
impress?”
“Let me tell you something, you won’t get my

I sighed.
“Ashley, you can’t think like that.”
“We’re going to run the company someday.
How can we do that if we don’t learn
anything?”
She rolled her eyes.
She sat down and started messing with her
phone.
“Easy for you to say. As soon as I got back,
my parents started paying attention to me!”
“Everyone knows who’s going to inherit the
company! Just wait and see.”
I nodded and didn’t argue.
I grabbed my phone.
A smirk played on my lips.
L
She was determined to screw up her life.
I would wait and see how it played out.
