Chapter 6
Chapter 6
“William, get out of my way!” Rage surged through me, my body trembling with fury, my tears streaming down my face as I glared at
him.
Like a wild animal, I grabbed an ornament from the cabinet and threw it with all the
force I could muster at Amanda.
William twisted around, shielding her with his back, taking the blow himself.
Amanda’s cries escalated, growing even
louder.
“Help! Dad, save me!”
My father stormed in, his eyes scanning the

chaos before him. Seeing Amanda crumpled
on the floor, he raised his hand and slapped me hard across the face.
“Avery! When will you stop bullying your sister?”
The slap sent shockwaves through my entire body, its force knocking me to the ground. Blood dripped from the corner of my mouth, mixing with the bitter taste of defeat.
Amanda threw herself into my father‘ s arms, her sobs echoing through the room.
“Daddy, I’m so scared. I don’t want to live with my sister anymore. Please, I want to
move out.

Father‘ s voice softened as he comforted her, his hand gently patting her shoulder.
Chapter 6
“Don’t worry, sweetheart. As long as I’m
here, no one can harm you.”
His cold, unfeeling eyes then shifted to me, locking onto me with chilling finality.
“Avery, since you can’t stand your sister, it’s you who should leave.”
Tears blurred my vision as I tried to reach him, to make him understand.
“Dad, can’t you see? She was the one who broke Mom‘ s diamond bracelet on purpose!”
Finally, his gaze drifted down to the shattered bracelet lying on the floor, but there was no sympathy in his eyes.
Amanda‘ s cries grew louder, her sobs almost

theatrical.
“Dad, I didn’t mean to. I just thought the bracelet was so beautiful, and I wanted to get a better look. But then Avery came rushing over, and it slipped out of my hands and fell.”
“That’s a lie!”
Her fake tears stung, while mine flowed freely, raw, and uncontrollably as if my heart was shattering with every sob.
“Dad, she did it on purpose! She knew that bracelet was the one Mom left me!”
“I didn’t!”
“Enough!” Father’s voice thundered, cutting through the tension. “Avery, your

sister isn’t some evil child. She couldn’t possibly have done it on purpose.”
“That’s right, Amanda would never do such
a thing.”
Stepmother wasted no time joining in, her tears flowing as easily as Amanda‘ s.
“Honey, maybe Amanda and I should move out after all. Avery won’t stop until she’s driven us out of this house…
وو
Her face, still striking despite the years, was marred by the sorrowful streaks of her false
tears.
“My poor Amanda. She’s been through so much, bullied everywhere she went, suffering beyond words. We finally found peace as a family of three, but now we can’t even have

a moment of calm…”
“Mom, please, stop.”
Amanda pulled away from Dad, throwing herself into Stepmother‘ s arms.
“It’s my fault. I made Avery angry.”
Seeing the mother and daughter cry together, Dad’s eyes softened with pity, and his coldness toward me deepened.
“Avery, since you can’t tolerate them, you
should move out.”
وو
A chill swept through my heart, freezing it entirely.
I could almost understand William falling for someone else, after all, love was inconsistent and unreliable. But this was my father.
Chapter 6
The man who owed everything he had to my mother, the wealth, the villa, all of it.
Yet, for the sake of this venomous duo, he was willing to cast me out.
“Dad, are you really going to throw me out?” I asked, my voice trembling, on the verge of breaking.
Dad refused to meet my gaze, a flicker of guilt flashing across his face.
“This is for your own good. We can’t keep living like this, always at each other’s
throats.

But the truth was, it was this mother–daughter pair who always picked the fights and always tormented me.
Chapter 6
His heart belonged to them.
No matter what I said, it would never matter.
I sank to my knees in front of the dressing table, tears flowing freely as I gathered the shattered pieces of the bracelet, wrapping them carefully in tissue paper.
Turning to face the family of three, now huddled together in their false comfort, I spoke softly but with an edge of cold resolve.
“I’ll make you regret every single thing you’ve done today.”
Amanda clung to Dad, feigning fear, her voice laced with drama. “Daddy, my sister‘ s threatening us. I’m so scared.”
The smug sparkle in her eyes sliced through me like a blade.
Chapter 6
I turned, my steps slow and heavy as I
descended the stairs.
Behind me, Dad‘ s voice, soft and tender, followed me down. “Amanda, don’t be afraid. Daddy‘ s here.

For a moment, memories of my childhood flooded my mind, times when I was the one who cried when I was the one feeling small.
When the other kids picked on me, Dad would hold me close and whisper those same comforting words. “Avery, don’t be afraid. Daddy’s here.”
