Sarah didn’t know what he was talking about.
“Why are you yelling? It’s normal not to win.
Only some people win, so don’t worry.”
He pointed at me. “Did this guy switch the
numbers?”

I said “You guys were the only ones who went,
how is that my fault?”
I thought to myself, my life’is not that easy to
copy.
Mark’s debt was due, and he kept getting
messages.
Sarah then said “Honey, I found a purse I like.”
Mark pushed her onto the ground. “All you
know how to do is buy purses. What else are
you good for? You can’t even win the lottery,
what are you even good for?
“You made me take out a loan, so return all
those bags, you scammer!”
Sarah got up and used her nails to scratch his
face. “I’m your wife, so I can spend your
money!”

“You owe money because you’re useless. Don’t blame me, I can just divorce you! I’m tired of this!”
I silently closed the door and took a breath.
I would not be able to last. Mark was reaping what he sowed.
Sarah only thought that she got with a rich guy,
she didn’t know the lottery stuff.
Looking at my stocks, they were going up. I shouldn’t have sold.
I had made a ton of money again.
I gave the old guy millions as a gift.
He didn’t like anything, only liquor, expensive
ones.

After that, Tiffany called me, and I wondered
why.
After we broke up, we didn’t talk.
Still, I picked up the phone.
“Jake, I want to ask, would you be willing to get
married? You won’t have to move in, no more
contracts.”
She said.
I was confused.
“I have changed, you can have whatever you
want from me, as long as we get back
together.”
She wasn’t rejecting me, why was she asking
me to get married now?

I also thought that I was just in it for the money.
I heard her dad in the phone saying: “Just say
what I told you to.”

I knew why, so I said: “No, I don’t want to.“.
Her dad got on the phone.
“Why wouldn’t you? My daughter is the best out
there.”
I said no.
He then said “I listened to you, and the
company is doing great, I think you would be
good to have, so I’m going to give you 10
percent share in the company.”
“Dad, are you crazy? You know how much it is?
And Jake doesn’t deserve it.”
I didn’t care about that.

And hung up the phone, I didn’t care for those
shares, my stocks are worth more than that.
I wouldn’t want to get with her either.
I said that, but it wasn’t real.
With money, I can marry whoever I want.
