One day, I saw a story on TV about the
mental hospital.
Multiple staff members had been arrested for
things like bribery, physical violence, and
abusing patients.
Some of them were even involved in human
experiments, rape, selling body parts, and

murder.
I shivered.
I remembered everything.
I took a deep breath and tried to calm down.
Everything was in the past..
When Ashley came in, I was still asleep.
I don’t know how long she’d been there, but
she got me water.
I thanked her.
Then, she awkwardly started peeling an apple.
I didn’t know why she was there.
She didn’t say anything, so I didn’t either.
I just stared at the ceiling.
She finally said, “I know what happened to
you.”
She kept talking.
“I just wanted to teach you a lesson.
You were a bully, always bullying others.
I don’t remember who suggested the mental
hospital.

“We didn’t know all that bad stuff would
happen to you!”
Ashley stopped.
She seemed like she was in pain.
“I was wrong.
Can you give me another chance?”
I shook my head.
“It’s okay.
I’m fine now.”
I didn’t say I forgave her.
Just then, her phone rang.
“Ryan, I have to go.
I’ll bring you food tonight.”
I nodded.
I didn’t stop her.
She hadn’t seen me notice that the message
was from Brandon.
