. Upon seeing that message and realizing he had been blocked,
Damien felt an inexplicable panic rise in his chest, as if something was slipping out of his control.
He called me frantically, but I had my phone in flight mode, and he couldn’t reach me.
It wasn’t just him. No one from my family could contact me.
My parents were desperate, and Cassian even drove all the way to the house in the south of the city to find me.
But just like the house I’d lived in for over twenty years, this place held no trace of me anymore.
Everything had been cleaned out.
After I got off the plane and turned off flight mode, I saw over a hundred missed calls on my phone.
That was when I remembered. I had only blocked them on social media but forgot to block their numbers.
Just as I was about to do that, another call came in.
I answered.
The person on the other end sounded extremely anxious.

“Nelia, where have you been? Do you have any idea how worried we’ve been?”
I looked at the caller ID. It was Cassian.
He was worried about me? I didn’t believe it.
“What’s the matter?”
I replied curtly, but somehow, I managed to hit a nerve.
“What do you think? Of course, there’s a matter!
“Do you have any idea what kind of trouble you caused by disappearing like that?
“Your friends made a scene at the wedding, saying Zara was the mistress who ruined your relationship. They even made her cry!
“Are you trying to get revenge on Zara?”
Cassian started blaming me instinctively.
But after speaking, he seemed to realize something and quickly added,
“I didn’t mean it…”
I chuckled lightly and interrupted him, “Wasn’t that exactly what happened?”

When I brought Damien home, hoping to marry him, wasn’t it Zara who used every trick in the book to get his attention?
Cassian seemed like he wanted to refute me but couldn’t come up with any arguments to defend Zara.
Why had Zara gotten closer to Damien?
Didn’t she know he was someone else’s boyfriend?
A sense of unease filled his heart.
If Zara had done this on purpose, would the innocence and purity everyone adored about her still be real?
He didn’t want to think too deeply and, as usual, shifted the blame back to me.
“Even so, she’s your cousin!
“Did you forget how Uncle and Aunt died?
“I know we’ve been busy with the wedding, but we’ll make it up
to you.
“You need to come back now and help Zara clear things up.”
I snorted, finally letting out the words I had been holding inside.
“Was Uncle and Aunt’s death really my fault?
“I was just eight years old at the time. I was just celebrating my

birthday. I wasn’t the one driving the car, and I didn’t crash into
theirs.
“Don’t you think it’s ridiculous that you’re using this to cover up your favoritism?”
With that, I hung up.
Not wanting to be bothered anymore, I blocked their numbers.
At that moment, my friend sent me a message, excitedly telling me to check it out.
I opened the video they had sent.
In it, Zara was wearing a wedding dress that was far more extravagant than the one I had worn before, practically clinging to Damien’s side.
It felt like I had been completely erased from the picture. Even the welcome board at the entrance had Zara and Damien’s
names on it.
Many of the guests were confused, not understanding why, in just a month, the bride had changed.
Damien, who should have been thrilled with the woman he liked by his side, looked like he was carrying a heavy burden, forcing a
smile.
My family was the same. Each of them looked lost in thought.

He suddenly snapped back to reality and said something that stunned the entire room.
“Did you call the wrong name? I’m supposed to marry Nelia.”
