Chapter 5
The ambulance rushed to the house, and I was rushed to the hospital while wailing in agony, tears streaming down my face.
As I was wheeled into the emergency room, doctors and healers quickly surrounded me to help deliver the pups.
Outside, various pack members tried desperately to reach Dominic.
“Hello, Alpha, this is Mary, please hurry it’s an emergency.” It was Beta Marcus’s mate Mary who called.
“Why are you calling Dom?”
Unexpectedly, Victoria answered, suspicious after our earlier confrontation.
“Dom, some Mary is calling you.”
Dominic quickly grabbed the phone and cleared his throat.
“Mary, I’m in an important meeting right now, so whatever it is can wait.” Then he hung up.
“I never thought our Alpha could be so cruel to his mate and
pup-”
“Indeed, it’s truly eye–opening…”
My consciousness drifted in and out as I kept hearing the panicked voices of doctors and
healers around me.”
In my delirious state, memories of the past flooded back.
I was nineteen when I accepted the mate bond with Dominic in an arranged match, expected to bear pups for a man I barely knew.
On our bonding night, Dominic’s mother even stationed two pack members outside our

chamber to ensure we completed the mating ritual. That’s when Dominic had told me:
“You’re my mate Reyna, but if you’re not ready, don’t feel pressured. No matter what
happens, I’ll always protect you.”
Later, when pack elders criticized me for being unable to conceive, my mate always defended me, never letting anyone exploit my weakness.
All make our pack the strongest in the region, Reyna, and you’ll be the most respected
Luna. Let’s see who dares speak ill of my mate then.”
From then on, Dominic had been my protector, my Alpha, my everything.
Five years passed, and I took on my role as Luna perfectly to show my gratitude and love for my mate. But in the end, he betrayed me for another wolf.
Those memories hit me hard in my vulnerable state the man I loved so deeply had discarded me like a worthless omega. Tears streamed down my face as I drifted in and out
of consciousness.
I could have died from the gut–wrenching pain that overwhelmed me, but then the sound of a pup’s first cry echoed through the room like blessed moonlight.
“M–my baby?” I whispered with what little strength remained.
“Wait! There’s another one!” A voice exclaimed, and soon I heard another miraculous cry.
With my last reserves of energy, I fought to open my eyes, my voice trembling as I asked, “Is my pup okay?”
“Congratulations madam! You’ve given birth to twin boys!”
When I woke again, I found my hand tightly held by my mother, who watched over me with tears in her eyes.
She didn’t speak, but her tears fell like rain.
“My precious girl has suffered so much.” My mom held me and wailed, devastated.

The color drained from my face.
“My babies. Where are my babies, Mom?”
“Not one but two, my dear. Your pups are perfectly healthy.” She quickly brought the twins and placed them beside me. When I turned to see their tiny faces, my entire world lit up with joy.
Reyna, do you know what the healer said? They told me it was a miracle you survived. You lost so much blood and could have died. I never should have trusted that bastard. To think
he’s betraying you so openly!”
I froze at my mother’s words.
“Mom, how do you know?” I carefully approached the subject.
“Me? The entire pack knows by now. Apparently, Dominic’s mistress answered his phone when they called about your emergency. What are you planning to do?”

“He’s been cheating since I miscarried, Mom.”
“That bastard!”
I squeezed my mother’s hand comfortingly, feeling an unexpected sense of calm.
“Mom, I want nothing more to do with him.”
At that moment, Dominic had just entered the pack house to receive Alpha Sanders and Luna Grace from the neighboring pack when he noticed strange looks directed his way. Even the visiting Alpha pair regarded him with odd expressions.
“Alpha Dominic, we’re honored you’re here to receive us despite the crisis at your door.” It sounded like praise, but the words dripped with ridicule.

“Border? Alpha, isn’t your mate in the hospital after nearly bleeding to death? Don’t you have an emergency at home?”
Dominic’s professional smile vanished as he froze.
“What?”
“We heard your mate was rushed to emergency care and almost died from blood loss. Were you not aware?”
