Chapter 119
Yvette didn’t bring up what had happened earlier. As usual, she made small talk.
“You’re running a bit late today. Oh, and it’s getting colder. I just repped out of the car and walked over, and my face was freezing. Here, feel it. Doesn’t it feel cold?” she said.
As she spoke, she gently brushed her cheek against Howard’s palm. His brow furrowed slightly, his fingers trembled faintly, and his arm fell limp to his side, pulling his hand away.
Yvette’s heart skipped a beat. Is that deliberate? Was he avoiding me?’ she wondered. But she didn’t let it show, instead speaking with care. “Your arm must be tired, huh? That’s on me. It’s my fault.”
Howard opened his mouth slightly, a raspy, indistinct sound escaping his throat.
Yvette understood immediately. She’d gained plenty of experience taking care of him lately. “You need to use the restroom, right? Hold on…”
She was about to get up and help him to the bathroom when she felt a tug on her sleeve. Howard had grabbed it, frowning deeply as he slowly shook his head
She understood his gesture, but at the same time, she didn’t.
“Howard, I’m your fiancée. The only thing we’re missing is a marriage certificate. Other than that, there’s no difference between us and a married couple. Let me help you, okay?” she said.
But Howard’s frown only deepened, and he shook his head again.

That was the only way Yvette could console herself. For now, Howard couldn’t speak, so she couldn’t even argue with him if she wanted to.
A week later, Sienna had meticulously reviewed the script. She wrote down all her thoughts about the female characters, capturing her interpretations in a thick stack of papers.
She handed them to Charles. “Mr. Carter, please take a look,” she said.
Charles accepted the stack, visibly surprised. “This much?”
“Yes… Sienna admitted, feeling both embarrassed and unsure of herself. This is my first time writing something like this, so I just jotted down everything that came to mind.”
“No problem.” Charles smiled, clearly impressed by her effort. “Having this attitude is already the first step to success. I’ll go through it and get back to you.”
“Thank you, Mr. Carter. Sienna smiled.

One evening, after filming wrapped up, Derek approached Sier. “Sienna, Mr. Carter asked me to tell you to join us for dinner tomorrow night.”
Before Sienna could ask for more details, Derek gave her a knowing wink. “For now, you’re the only actress under consideration for a role in this project.
“Just stay calm when you meet the producer and the financier. Mr. Carter and I will be there with you.”
So, it was a dinner with the big bosses. Sienna felt an inexplicable resistance. She couldn’t quite put her finger on why

The next day, knowing she’d be meeting important people, Siera chose a long brown dress. It struck the perfect balance between elegance and formality, while also accentuating her figure.
Following the address Derek had sent her, Sienna made sure to leave early to avoid traffic and arrived at Mousea House right “on time to meet him.
“You’re here,” Derek called out, waving her over. “Let’s go. Mr. Carter is already upstairs.”
“Alright, let’s go.” She nodded.
As they rode the elevator, Derek couldn’t help but sigh, his face clouded with concern.
“Derek?” Sienna asked, puzzled. “Is there something wrong?”
Derek glanced at her and frowned slightly before giving her a word of caution. “When we get there, if you feel wronged, just endure it.”

“Don’t stress. It’s just dinner,” he said.
Sienna took a deep breath. ‘Got it, Derek.”
But there was no way that she didn’t feel nervous. All she could do now was hope the producer wouldn’t cross any lines.
When they reached the private room upstairs, the dim lighting made Sienna squint, trying to adjust. She frowned slightly. finding it hard to acclimate, especially with the overwhelming mix of alcohol and perfume in the air.
Derek led her over to where Charles was seated. “Mr. Carter, Siema’s here.”
“Hi, Sienna,” Charles said, waving her over. “Come here, and let’s stand a bit closer.”
“Yes, Mr. Carter.” Sienna nodded.
Derek stepped aside, leaving room for her.
“Come one. This is Sienna,” Charles said, motioning toward her as he introduced her to a middle–aged man seated nearby.
The man was thin, his face full of smiles, radiating an air of false benevolence. This was the producer, Enie Wilson.
“Meet our producer, Enio,” Charles said.
“Hello, Sienna said, bowing politely.
“Hello.” Enio’s gaze landed on Sienna, his expression first one of astonishment, then one of fixation. His eyes were glued to her, unrelenting.
She was stunning. Even in an industry filled with beautiful women, her looks were extraordinary.
Enio shot Charles a meaningful glange. “Mr. Carter, impressive. Where did you manage to find such a beauty?”
“Pure coincidence, Charles replied with a casual chuckle, “A lucky coincidence.
“Come here,” Enio said, extending his hand toward Sienna.
His palm faced upward, open and waiting in front of her. ‘Does he want me to take his hand? she wondered.
