Chapter 25
Instead of stepping inside, Sienna took a step back. “You guys gobhead. I’ll be right up
Josiah raised an eyebrow in annoyance. “What are you doing? I sad come in, so just come in already!”
Annoyed, he reached out to grabs her, but then he remembered that Sienna really disliked being touched by him. If he did, she’d definitely freak out.
He hesitated, feeling conflicted. All he could do was urge her, “Come on. Hurry up and get in.“”
“No.” Sienna shook her head firmly, refusing to budge.
“Sienna Shaw!” Josiah’s patience was wearing thin, and his temper was about to snap. But the elevator didn’t wait; the doors began to close slowly right in front of them.
“Hey!” Josiah tried to stop it, but it was too late. He couldn’t help but mutter under his breath, “Annoying girl!”
Yvette and Janet exchanged glances, silent.
Josiah, Yvette called, tugging on his arm with a slight smile, ‘Don’t worry, Miranda has surgery today, and Sienna will be
here.”
“I know. But why isn’t she coming up? Josiah replied, frowning.
Wette hesitated, a hint of discomfort crossing her face. “I think it might be because of me. Maybe she doesn’t want to see me? We had a little argument a few days ago.”
“An argument? Josiah’s expression darkened, and he smirked, “So what right does she have to avoid you? She’s just too embarrassed to face you.”
“Alright,” Yvette said, her expression slightly awkward as she tried to soothe him. “How long has it been since then? I was just stressed that day. Can’t we just move on?”
“Move on?” Josiah scoffed, a slight sneer on his lips. Did she just make a small mistake? That’s something I can never forgive. How can we just forget about it?”
“Josiah… Yvette called out, wanting to reason with him.
Josiah cut her off. “Don’t say anything more. You can forgive her because you have a soft heart. But for me, I lost my nephew or niece–I can never forgive that.” Otherwise, how could he face Howard and the Flynn family?
Yvette looked up at him, choosing to hold her tongue. Suddenly remembering something, she asked, “By the way, last time you mentioned signing the divorce agreement, so now you guys
“There was a slight issue. We’ll take care of it later, Josiah replied casually.
Just then, the elevator doors paused and opened. Josiah stepped out, looked down at her, and said, “Grandma doesn’t know about this yet. She’s really stubborn. Please keep it a secret for now.”
“Okay,” Yvette smiled gently and nodded. After a moment’s hesitation, she asked again, “Did something go wrong, and it’s fallen through?
“Yeah Josiah paused briefly before he spoke vaguely. “I had something unexpected come up. Let’s go.” He turned around and led the way.
“I see,” Yvette followed a few steps behind, watching his tall figure A wave of emotion washed over her, leaving her deep in thought.

“Yvette, Janet whispered, unable to hold back her excitement. “Mr. Flynn is finally getting a divorce. This is your chance, and
have to take it. He a little more proactive when the time comes”
you
Yvette frowned, scolding Janet quietly, “What are you talking aloin? Josiah and I are just friends–more like family
“I… Janet stammered, seared.
Yvette warned firmly. “Don’t say things like that again. If the media catches wind of it, who knows what kind of stories they’ll come up with? Do you get it?”
“Y–Yes,” Janet stammered..
“Let’s go.” Yvette said, crossing her arms as she caught up to Josia
Since Sienna hadn’t arrived yet, they had to wait in the lobby instead of going in right away. About six minutes later, Sienna showed up. Josiah looked at her, displeased. “Let’s go. Grandma waiting.”
“Okay,” Sienna replied.
They then made their way to Miranda’s room–Josiah took the lead, Yvette followed close behind, and Sienna trailed at the
back.
All the pre–surgery preparations were done. Miranda was lying on the bed in the transfer room. When she saw the three of them come in, she reached out eagerly. “You’re all here.”
She grasped Josiah’s and Yvette’s hands, offering them reassurance, “It’s okay. I’ll be out safe, so don’t worry.”
Then she noticed Sienna. “Sienna, come over here and let me see you.”
Sienna stepped forward a bit. Miranda took her hand and said, “You’ve been through a lot and you’ve grown up. When I get better, I’ll still cherish you just like before, okay?”
“Okay. But you have to keep your word. Pinky promise, no lies. Laar, liar, pants on fire.” Sienna held up her right hand and linked her pinky finger with Miranda’s.
Miranda was momentarily taken aback, then burst into laughter She extended her pinky and hooked it with Sienna’s. “There, 1 promise not to be a liar.”
Josiah watched with a faint smile. ‘Sienna might be useless and have a lousy character. But when it comes to making Grandma happy, no one can top her.
‘Look, just a few words from her and Grandma is laughing her heart out. Neither Yvette nor I could manage that‘
“Time’s up.
Miranda. You need to go in,” a nurse said as she came to wheel Miranda into the operating room.
The surgery would take about five hours, and the family could wait in the VIP lounge.
As noon approached, Yvette checked the time and asked Josiah, “Hey, what do you want to eat? I’ll order for us,”
“You decide. I’m good with anything,” Josiah replied just as his phone rang–a work call. “I have to take this outside for a while
Hence, the lounge was left with just Yvette and Sienna.
Yvette smiled and turned to Sienna. “What about you?”
Sienna paused for a moment, then shook her head “No need. You guys go ahead.” With that, she grabbed her bag, stood up.

and walked out of the door..
Watching her leave, Yvette smirked a little. “You don’t want anyhat’s fine by me. I wasn’t really keen on eating with you
either.”
She then signaled Janet, “Could you order something? You know what Josiah likes, right?”
“Yeah, I got it. Don’t worry,” Janet replied and then went to place the order.
By the time Josiah finished his call and returned, the food had just arrived.
Yvette waved with a smile: “Come on, sit down. These are all your favorites. Eat while it’s hot.”
“Okay.” Josiah put away his phone, pulled out a chair, and sat down. Just as he was about to dig in, he noticed something and asked, “Where’s Sienna?”
“She went out and said no need,” Yvette said casually.
“No need Josiah chuckled sarcastically. ‘She’s always saying that, she might as well patent the phrase, he thought, setting down his plate and trying to get up.
“Where are you going?” Yvette quickly stopped him.
“Ask her to join us for dinner, Josiah replied.
“Forget it. Yvette laughed and shook her head. “I think she really means it. Remember what she studied? Dance. Dieting is pretty important for her.”
“Dieting?” Josiah raised an eyebrow in doubt. Sienna hadn’t been back long, but he had seen her cat–and she definitely had a big appetite.
“You don’t know her like I do. She can eat,” Josiah smiled, pulled out a chair, and left.
Instantly, Yvette’s face darkened.
