The house fell back into utter silence. As I watched him drive away, tears ran down my cheeks again.
Antonio, when you found out that I was gone, would you for a moment feel sad about it?
Isabel tried to convince Antonio to spend the night but he refused. He sped up to get home.
Just now, he brought that blue diamond necklace back 3 times the price.
Once he thought of the soft smile on Grace’s face when she received it, he felt that it was worth the price.
But when he reached home, the lights were all out.
Antonio didn’t think too much and thought Grace must be asleep already.
However, when he turned on the light in the living room, he saw a piece of paper on the table.
Antonio was stunned for a moment and then picked it up.
On that paper, it was written “Divorce Agreement“.
His pupils contracted sharply, and a feeling of uneasiness came over him.

“Grace?” he tried to call out her name, but no one responded.
He rushed upstairs, but no one was there.
In the bedroom, all Grace’s belongings were gone.
Antonio felt as if someone had struck him, and he could barely stand.
His hands trembled as he pulled out his phone, only to find that she had blocked him in every way
Antonio didn’t understand why. He just went out for a while, but why would his wife leave him?
He began to call Grace’s friends to check out her whereabouts,
But, everyone told him the same thing.
“She wanted you to sign the divorce agreement and didn’t want you to go find her. She said she had enough and needed a break.”
Till this moment, Antonio realized that Grace had been planning to leave him.
Everyone knew she was leaving, except for him.
Antonio curled up on the floor in agony. What happened these days kept playing on his mind.
Since when did she plan to leave?
The more he thought of it, the more bitter it seemed to him. He found that every incident of the last few days would drive Grace away.

Antonio woke up and found himself lying in bed. There was a sound of footsteps outside.
His heart clenched and he quickly got out of bed and rushed to the door.
“Grace!”
But when he opened the door, it wasn’t Grace standing there.
Javon put a bowl of soup on the nightstand and then teased, “Antonio, how are you holding up?”
Antonio looked down, his eyes filled with disappointment.
Javon sneered and took out a box.
“This is the diamond Grace sold me on that day.”
When he mentioned Grace, Antonio’s eyes lit up.
He grabbed the box, opened it, and saw a very clear blue diamond in it.
“Grace said she planned to give this diamond to you, because she knew you would turn it into a piece of art and to maximize its value.”
“Then, I asked her why she would sell it to me. Do you know what she said?”
Antonio froze there. He asked in a bitter tone, “What did she say?”
“She said, too bad that you don’t know how to appreciate it. But she believed that there was someone out there who could see

“That’s why she’s gone. She will be looking for a man who will cherish her and understand her.”
“Antonio, you did this to yourself. You lost her.”
“Grace, what’s on your mind? Is something bothering you?”
I returned to reality after I heard my dad’s voice.
I shook my head and said, “Dad, I’m fine. Nothing is bothering me.”
Then he stuffed a card into my hand.
“There’s a party tonight. This is the invitation.”
I arched a brow. “Is that all?”
Dad sneered. “I got you a plus–one for the party. You’d better not reject him!”
I felt helpless. “Dad…”
“Alright, it’s done. I’m not asking you to date him. He’s just a plus–one.”
I knew I could never beat him, so simply nodded my head.
At night, I was at the ballroom, wondering how to find the guy

I turned back and saw a guy with a pair of bright eyes.

His teasing tone made me laugh, so I replied, “Hi, Mr. Larson. I’m Grace Parrish. Your date tonight.”
I took his arm, and we walked toward the banquet hall. In the meantime, he kept telling me funny things.
I was worried that it would be awkward, but he turned out to be a very easygoing guy.
“Mr. Larson, what do you do for a living?”
Kendall looked a little surprised when I asked so.
“Really? You don’t know what my job is?”
