As soon as I turned around, he grabbed my wrist. Antonio’s face was pale, his eyes filled with caution. “Grace, does what you said that day still count?”
I thought of that stormy day. When he lay on the stretcher, he insisted he wanted an answer from me.

However, he seemed not to hear my words. “Grace, you promised me that day, you…”
