Back home, I told my parents everything.
They were really supportive, said it was
me whether I wanted to meet the Harrisons,
they’d be there for me either way.
My parents said they wanted to meet Tiffany
too.
Just thinking about her gave me a headache.
That night, I tossed and turned, couldn’t
sleep.
A few days later, Jillian contacted me again.
She said the Harrisons wanted to meet me.
I talked to my parents, and decided to go.
They were a kind couple, as soon as I walked
in, they ran to me and started crying.
I started to cry too.
During dinner, they kept putting food on my
plate, staring at me with love in their eyes,
not wanting to look away.
Suddenly, the door burst open.
I looked up, surprised.
It was Tiffany.
Dustin was following her, close behind.
Before anyone could react, Tiffany was
running at me, grabbing my hair.
She dragged me off the seat, pulling my hair and slapping me. “Abigail, you b*tch! You’re
not taking my parents from me!”
く
By the time everyone pulled her off me, she’d
pulled out a chunk of my hair.
I held my head in pain.
She was still screaming, saying awful things.
Mr. and Mrs. Harrison looked upset.
Then, a smack! Tiffany’s head snapped to the
side, she stared at her dad in disbelief.
“You hit me! You hit me for this b*tch!”
Her dad was angry. “Shut your mouth! She’s
my daughter, I won’t let you talk about her like that!”
Tiffany screamed. “She’s your daughter, what am I? What am I to voL12”
く
Her dad stopped, his mouth opening and
closing, trying to say something, but couldn’t.
Her mom was crying.
They’d raised Tiffany for 18 years, they
couldn’t just throw that away.
That day, Tiffany and us left on bad terms.
Jillian drove me home, told me a story.
That’s how I found out why Tiffany was the
way she was.
