steps, lost in thought. The rain–washed sky was a brilliant blue, dotted with fluffy white clouds, a stark contrast to the smog–filled skies of LA. Alex handed me a bottle of water. I looked up and smiled. “What brings you back?” He grinned. “Mom tricked me.” “What about you?” he asked. Alex was undeniably attractive. The sun warmed his skin, making him look almost golden. His glasses hid intelligent, warm eyes. I looked away, searching for the right words.
