I woke up with Summer crying beside me. She
claimed I’d taken advantage of her and had to
take responsibility. I’d been drunk, not
unconscious. I knew I hadn’t done anything. I’d
already broken up with her, but I hadn’t told
anyone yet. I hadn’t expected my friends to call
her while I was drunk, and I certainly hadn’t
expected her to set me up. I tried to ignore it,
but she went public, playing the victim. I was
dealing with the fallout from that while Ashton
was sabotaging my business. I had to postpone
my trip to Georgia. By the time I’d sorted
everything out and gone to beg Olivia for
another chance, she was engaged. The pain
was suffocating. One wrong step, and it all fell
apart.
