Chapter 7
It’s been one Month with hopes raised high, a month away without any form of contact from Evelyn. Caleb had tried every possible means of communication to get to her, calls, texts, social media platforms… All methods he was blocked from every single platforms.
Seated outside with the cool evening breeze coursing through his body, his driver walked up to him.
Seeing his driver, he sat up straight, knowing Mark was back, his hopes was raised high, he knew his Driver had the news that could either make him or break him.
“What did she say?” He queried, his turquoise eyes firmly on his driver, Mark.
“I’m afraid sir, there is no positive change, here” Mark spoke handing him the divorce certificate.
His eyes suddenly turned

The neon lights of the club pulsed, bathing the dance floor in a rainbow of colors. Bodies moved in time to the pounding music, creating a sea of human motion. Ashley, Evelyn’s friend stood at the center of the dance floor, her eyes scanning the crowd. A smile tugged on her lips as she caught sight of her target, and she raised her drink in a toast.
“Y’all, I have an important information to pass” she yelled at the top of her voice trying to get attention on her. Everywhere became calm, as almost all eyes was directed on her with utmost anticipation wondering what news she wants to unravel.
“Evelyn is single, guys! and…. Ready to mingle!” she called out, her voice carrying over the music. The news was met with cheers and applause, as the other women in the club celebrated their friend’s newfound independence.
“You got to be kidding me!” The gaspes was heard as everyone turned their head to face Evelyn.
From where she sat, Evelyn felt her face turned crimson as all eyes were directed at her, Why were they all excited for her? Getting divorced; she didn’t really say that as a big deal.
“You have no idea how excited I am” Ashley with a glass of Sex in the beach wine sashayed to where she sat, making a toast with the glass as she laughed excitedly.
‘I’m baffled on how excited you are for me getting divorced when it was supposed to be the other way round” Evelyn drawled sarcastically.
“Yeah right, of course I have to celebrate your freedom. Like five years, good fucking five years in a jail called marriage with you trying to impress a stupid someone that doesn’t even sees your worth till date” Ashely rolled her eyes as she spoke so freely. She had never been in support of her getting married to Caleb. As a matter of fact, Ashley stopped visiting her and kept their friendship at arm length after she got married to Caleb..
“You’re a sly fox!” Evelyn rolled her eyes as she slipped from her wine. Even without being told, she wondered how Ashley was able to find out that she was going through hell In her marital home. Of course, they had been birds of the same feathers almost sharing the same thoughts.
“Hi ladies” a voice greeted drawing their attention as they stared up.
“Oh! Yeah he comes‘ Ashley face pulled into a beam as she stared up at Cole.
Cole had been one of Evelyn diehard admirer back before she got married, it started from sending her anonymous letters, gifts and texts. Evelyn had always hoped those texts and gift should be from Caleb, but however, he seemed so clueless whenever she brought the hint. It took Cole months before he could finally revealed himself to her as her secret admirer. However, it was too late as Evelyn was already prepared to tie down the knot with Caleb.
Evelyn eyes widened as she stared at Cole, five years without seeing him, and he wasn’t looking so different, his gentle look was still in place, his cute dimples was very obvious even without smiling, he was handsome no doubt… But still far fetched from Caleb.
“Damn!” She muttered having the urge to hit her head for still thinking of Caleb even at a time like this.
“Hi Cole…” She stuttered, trying to return his gesture as she forced a smile on her face.
“It’s been years, so I would leave you guys to talk more” Ashley was quick to stand to her feet as she gave Evelyn a wink, and the walked away.

“Sly fox!” Evelyn muttered under her breath, she knew what Ashley was up to once again, and she was very sure that she’d invited Cole over without letting her know.
“You’re still looking pretty… More like a younger version” Cole broke the awkward tension that was existing between them.
Suddenly, it felt sixteen again, the awkward moment where she had always blushed and shy away whenever a guy had complimented how good she was looking. Those moments were seeming to be occuring again.
“Thank you… You look nice too” She tried to keep the conversation cool, even though she was finding it difficult.
It’s been years, aside from the usual compliment Megan had always tossed her with, she hadn’t gotten any truly genuine one. She only get reminded at night from Caleb how perfect her body was for him. At least that was something he had always appreciated.
This conversation was so going to be awkward… Knowing how she had turned Cole down and instead showed him the ring on her finger with the pride that she was going to be getting married soon to Caleb.
“You know, I never knew I was going to meet with you again” Evelyn knew Cole was doing his best in trying to keep the conversation forward, but she was just so lost in her thought thinking of something else.
“Oh! Really? I thought Ashley prepped you”
‘She didn’t, I swear! She had only invited me for a drink. I never knew she invited you too” Cole defended, pouring out a glass of wine for her and also for himself.
Ashley will forever be Ashley! How can she forget that. Her crooky way can never be predictable.
“You know after your rejection, I still haven’t gotten over you, despite the fact that you’re married” Cole gave her a soft look as he spoke truthfully.
Evelyn had always liked him because of his sincerity.
“I’m divorced!” She broke the news to him, showing her finger without the ring. Perhaps this wasn’t a right time to let him know, but she had to spill the truth.
Just then, she watched as his once gloomy face lit up, she could tell that he was excited and the glint of his eyes was so obvious that he was battling to keep his excitement at check.
“Would you care to dance with me?” Cole queried extending his hands.
Evelyn smiled, nodding her head, it’s just a harmless dance, extending her hand, she stood to her feet as Cole walked her down to the dance floor.
The soft music swirled around Cole and Evelyn as they dance to the tune of the music. Evelyn was too lost in her thought weighing back to when she had her first dance with Cole. It had been so beautiful with her heart beating heavily. It remains on of the most beautiful dance she ahd ever had.
Evelyn suddenly jerked back to reality at the sudden change of the music, quite enough to glance through her environment.
They were surrounded with other couples, swirling and dancing just like they were, just then her eyes caught sight of that familiar Zegna suit, well- ironed and had this strong Aura.
Evelyn could tell who that individual was from anywhere.
Caleb! Her throat burned with fury as she watched his hands snaked round a female waist, she was sure that it was no other female other than Aurelia.
Just then, his eyes turned to face her, Blue eyes suddenly met with her turquoise own.
