Chapter 7
“From now on, you won’t be mine anymore, and I won’t be your girlfriend. Jacob, I hope you won’t tell Mia about these last few days. This is my final request of you.”
She grabbed Jacob’s hand.
Jacob sighed but didn’t chase after Mia.
Catherine smiled. The people around her looked at her disdainfully because of the plagiarism incident. But she didn’t care.
She was the eldest daughter of Sage Corporation’s owner.
Even Jacob, who wanted to negotiate a partnership with her family’s company, had to agree to date her for three months. By then, her father would handle everything.
Jacob rubbed his temples and instructed someone to clean up the situation.

partner. If they could collaborate, Yale Enterprise would reach a new height.
Jacob believed that if he explained
everything to Mia properly later, she would forgive him.
With this thought in mind, Jacob’s frown eased a little. He ordered the incident to be resolved discreetly.
Catherine was still his fiancée in the name. He couldn’t let her reputation be tarnished.
Everyone participating in today’s event had some benefits and the situation didn’t
escalate further.
Catherine wrapped her arms around Jacob’s neck.
“Jacob, come to my place tonight.”
“Our time together is almost over. I want to spend the last few days with you.”
She offered her red lips.
Jacob didn’t resist. He just thought he was

sacrificing himself for the sake of the partnership. He wouldn’t pass up such an opportunity as a man.
However, he asked her to go up ahead and wait for him before they went to her apartment. He pulled out his phone to call Mia.
The girl who had never kept him waiting was ignoring his calls.
Impatience flickered in Jacob’s eyes.
Was she mad at him?
He couldn’t think of anything he’d done
wrong.
Catherine was the eldest daughter of Sage Corporation’s owner. She only wanted to elevate her social status a bit.
Yet, Mia couldn’t even grasp something as basic as this. These events happened yearly -what difference would it make if she waited one more year?
He needed to teach her a lesson.

But unexpectedly, all the messages he sent her went unanswered.
Jacob was furious. He was determined to let Mia know where he was wrong this time. He turned off his phone and stayed with Catherine in the apartment for a week.
When he finally drove home, he was ready to accept Mia’s apology.
But the entire villa was pitch black. Her bedroom was spotless, with no trace of anyone living there.
He wasn’t stupid. Mia had left.
Jacob panicked. He covered his chest to steady himself.
Why was she so dramatic?
He sent people out to search for Mia when the doorbell rang.
Hope lit up Jacob’s face. As soon as he saw Mia, he would forgive her this time.

The door creaked open, revealing Catherine standing on the doorstep.
She glanced into the house, trying to hide her satisfaction.
“Mia’s not home, huh? She’s still mad.
Jacob, Mia’s not that young anymore. You need to discipline her properly.”
Jacob turned to face Catherine, his
expression hardening. His voice was stern as he warned her.
“Catherine, we’re over. Stay out of Mia’s
life.”
Catherine had long since grown used to Jacob’s coldness.
She fell silent, looking a bit embarrassed.
