Dad finally accepted the bouquet.
He picked up his phone, our last conversation having been five days prior.
That day, I had called multiple times, but he had grown irritated and hung up every
time.
After that, I never messaged him again.
Dad grunted, “You call so many times but never say what’s wrong, always so temperamental.”
He turned off his phone, turned around, and threw the bouquet in the trash.
“Your mom definitely wouldn’t want to see your flowers, and I don’t want to see you.”
