“Your husband to be.” I immediately stopped resisting as my eyes widened.
“Y–You came yourself?!” The dangerous man in the mask looked down at me with his eyes gentle as if saying that he
couldn’t trust others to take care of me.
Xander returned to where we had been standing, looking around. His eyes
scanned the area, but I was nowhere in sight. The only thing that he found was our marital pendant which was crushed by the
crowd.
“Elena? Where is Elena, fuck, search for my wife!” The bodyguards surrounding him quickly followed the orders but in
vain.
In half an hour while I was unconscious because of inhaling the smoke, Mikhail had already driven me to where his private jet was hidden on the roof of a gigantic

“Careful, Elena.” I looked at my surroundings only to realize that we were already in the air, I tried to get up groggily only to stumble and fall in someone’s lap.
I blushed and quickly sat beside Mikhail pouting as he smirked.
“Your phone.” The Italian mob boss. handed me my phone which had hundreds. of missed calls from Xander and quite at few messages from my dad making me
worried.
“My father must be really worried?”
“Yes, he is waiting for you.” I was
stunned.
“Don’t worry, I have explained to him the circumstances and he was indeed raged but not at you. Believe me at this moment there is no one who wants to ruin Xander Stone more than him and me.”
“Why you?” I tilted my head genuinely

“The woman I could not even get my hands on despite all my efforts was treated like this. It makes me want to kill him.”
The veins on Mikhail‘ s forehead throbbed dangerously.

plane landed in Italy.
As soon as I exited, followed by numerous bodyguards beside Mikhail, I saw an entourage of cars lined up and a couple was waiting for me.
Tears streamed down my face as a dam of emotions broke, making me run up to them seeking comfort.
“Mom! Dad!” My parents engulfed me in their protective hold as I sobbed brokenly.

I was too tired to explain anything, thus without another word my mother took me back to their estate while my father stayed

They were from Victor, my personal aide who looked after the mafia dealings as I instructed.
Although he was a loyal part of the American Mafia, the long five years we have spent as friends prompted him to send me the information and what was happening in my absence.
He said that he was honestly not surprised that I chose to leave Xander when he was openly having a mistress. He wished me luck for future endeavors along with an attachment–three video files this time.

It seemed that after I disappeared Xander came searching for me only to find my marital locket pendant which opened to show our wedding photo.
It was something that I never took off in 5 years of our marriage. Xander looked pale. as he trembled, roaring to the bodyguards. that they must find me.
The second video was of the diner that I
visited yesterday, It was near the theater and to find some clues Xander interrogated its owner only for the owner to get frightened and say that he did not know anything apart from a diamond ring that they found in the trash can this morning.
Xander looked like he was going to kill
someone.
In the third video there were only three people present: Xander, Diana, and Victor.
There were no sounds so I could not hear what Victor was saying but the document in his hand was a divorce paper which I

The moment he gave those pa
papers to Xander was coincidently the moment when Xander’s phone buzzed with what I think
was my message.
The message seemed long as he stood pale for several minutes reading it.
His form was frozen as he looked in
disbelief and then snatched the documents flipping through them again and again like a madman before his fists slammed onto
the glass table breaking it into thousands of shards which made him bleed profusely.
Diana’s face was contorted into a mix of
shock and concern as she rushed to hold
Xander’s wounded arm.
But before she could touch him, the man turned around harshly knocking her down as she looked at him in astonishment and
hurt.
Xander paced to and fro as his body trembled with anger.

I could sense the tension was brewing as the man seemed to shout something at Victor making him get out of the chamber in a hurry.
Victor came back soon with my personal briefcase whose password only I and Xander knew for it contained my very private files and documents.
Xander snatched the briefcase and turned it upside down, spilling its contents.
I watched with cold eyes as my now ex- husband picked up a black sheet with my ultrasound. Like a maniac, he scoured through the contents to find a series of ultrasounds and a small box.
This was my anniversary gift and surprise to Xander which I took out of his wardrobe when I realized he would not need it now since I have lost my baby.
Opening the box, he found a three–watch
limited collection- male, female and a very tiny one for a child.

My way of telling him that I was pregnant, but it was before I miscarried.
Xander looked at the pictures with wide eyes as if he had seen a ghost. Diana stood up on her feet awkwardly and stood behind Xander keeping her hands on his shoulders as if to comfort him.
The video ended and I did not think much of it.
After all, as promised I was to marry Mikhail Giovanni and leave Xander behind.
I was thinking all that when I heard my
