- 8.
Only Mark and Sarah clapped, it sounded
awkward.
Mark yelled while clapping: “Good! Good!
This student is really good!”
The principal said: “Why aren’t people
clapping? Where is the applause?”
After the principal said that, people started
clapping.
Mark got louder: “Principal, does the school
have any rewards?”
Sarah: “I heard that the other school gave the
student a bonus of 100,000 dollars, right?”
The principal’s face turned red.
He tried to laugh it off: “Don’t worry students,
there will be a bonus, but the details will be
later.”
My father stepped up to help:
“Don’t worry people, if the school doesn’t
have enough money, we will cover it, it won’t
be less than 100,000 dollars.”
Everyone was quiet.
But Mark and Sarah were smiling.
The principal was happy and said:
“Students, I want to give you your final
lecture.”
“On the path of life, we need to be happy for
other’s accomplishments, just like Mark and
Sarah.”
“You all should be like them!”
Mark and Sarah were shocked.
“Not Mark went to State University!?”
“Not Sarah went to State University!?”
“No!”
The students were happy.
“Oh, Julie went to State University!”
“I knew those two couldn’t go to State!”
“That’s why I didn’t want to clap!”
The principal was crying.
His final lecture was worth it!
At that moment, my father stood up, and
cleaned his throat.
Everyone waited.
“I have an announcement.”
