Bonus Story 1: David’s Perspective
The news of Amelia’s accusations sent panic through David. He’d never felt this scared.
He’d faced tough negotiations, financial
crises, but nothing compared to this fear.
His marriage to Amelia had been purely for
business. He was ambitious and saw her
family’s connections as a way to boost his
company. He’d maintained a façade of a
loving husband until his depression led to his
suicide attempt. Then he met Evelyn. He was

His time at the hospital with Evelyn was the
happiest, most carefree period of his life. She introduced him to new experiences, new games, a world outside of work and

mistress?”
“She’s not a mistress!” David retorted. “Our
marriage was about business. I only love
Evelyn.”
Amelia laughed, a chilling, hollow sound. “I
was so stupid. I thought you loved me. Even
after I found out about you and Evelyn, about
Lucas… I didn’t care. I remembered your
saying you only loved me.‘

“Now I know the truth. You’re a cruel,
heartless monster! You’ll never find true love. Evelyn will never forgive you. And I don’t want you anymore!”
Amelia, consumed by the need for revenge, went public, devastating David’s company. He had to return and handle the fallout. He never expected him to dissolve the company. In that moment, she realized he truly did love Evelyn. She finally left, sending Evelyn a text before she went: “I’m sorry for how I treated you.
We were both victims.”
