“Wait, you’re actually getting married? To
that loser from college?”
Kawn Hor, sitting in the driver’s seat,
twitched.
<
I laughed and explained to Sarah, who was on
the phone:
“He’s not a loser, he has a name. His name is
Kawn Hor. He works for Jiang Zhou Tech.”
“After all these years, it was about time for
me to settle down. No joke, you have to be
my maid of honor.”
After I went overseas, I didn’t know anyone,
and Kawn Hor helped me a lot.
We got close.
A year later, Kawn Hor finally graduated. And,
that night, the six–foot man cried like a baby.
He said that I was his angel, and I’d given him
a second chance.
く
And if that angel would agree to date him, he
would be forever grateful.
I agreed, and not just because of what he had
said.
It was more because… he was an honest,
good, and down–to–earth guy.
After we started dating, our relationship had
been really stable.
When the exchange program was over, I
stayed to finish my graduate studies.
Kawn Hor decided to start a company. He
made Jiang Zhou Tech with his old school
buddies.
Two years later, I finished my graduate
<
program and was planning to go back home.
Kawn Hor’s company was also doing well.
This time, I came back to plan the wedding.
Sarah was still talking about how life was
unpredictable.
Then she said:
“Did you know Liam’s getting married too?”
I softly said, “Oh.”
I really didn’t feel anything.
Kawn Hor on the other hand, sounded a little
panicked. He quickly said goodbye to Sarah
and then hung up the phone.
<
“Honey, we still have to try on a few dresses.
We have to hurry or we’ll be late.”
I didn’t say anything about his clumsy attempt
to change the topic. I just smiled.
“Okay. I’ll go wherever you want.”
