Chapter 11
“I’m sorry, Ms. Liv. What seems to be the problem?”
“What’s going on here?”
The three of them turned to Daniel, who had just arrived. Lilian couldn’t speak right away ad remained silent. Olivia Monroe stood up and approached Daniel. Her expression was still the same–sullen and with a sharp gaze.
Lilian knew that she no longer had any hope for the opportunity given to her by Daniel.
“You… Why did you only bring and introduce this woman to me now? I told you to recommend someone who could handle these!” Olivia shouted, grabbing the folder containing Lilian’s designs from her desk.
Lilian’s mouth fell open, utterly confused and overwhelmed by the situation.
“These designs are magnificent, Daniel! I can’t believe this!” Olivia hissed and turned to
look at Lilian.
The sharp and stern look she used to give her was gone, suddenly replaced by a
mischievous glance and a grin. The woman quickly approached Lilian and held her by both
shoulders.
“Even your beauty is magnificent. Are you ready to conquer the world of designers with
me, Lilian?”
Lilian’s heart almost leaped with joy. She couldn’t react properly right away because she
thought her idol didn’t like her. But now it seems like she is being accepted wholeheartedly
right away.
The meeting between Lilian and Olivia Monroe lasted for several hours. Daniel stayed by her side until their discussion about the contract and the projects Lilian would be handling
was over.
“I heard what happened to you. Is it alright for you to use your real name on your designs, or would you prefer an alias?” Olivia suddenly asked Lilian while she gathered the sample

designs from earlier in the meeting.
Lilian felt a wave of embarrassment, but she quickly remembered what Daniel had told her–Olivia is his cousin, and she knows more about her than Lilian had realized.
“I’ll use Lily as my name for my designs, Ms. Liv. That works for me,” she replied firmly.
“That’s what I thought.” Olivia said, nodding. “I forgot to mention, there’s an upcoming fashion show next week, and one of the models presenting my designs will be Ruby. Do you
ave something in mind for her to… you know, wear?”
Lilian turned to Olivia. Her smile became even more visible, so she laughed. It didn’t occur to her that it would be like this in real life. She only used to see this on TV before.
However, in the end, Lilian refused Olivia’s offer to ruin Ruby at the fashion show because it was Olivia’s fashion show. The right time will come for her revenge, and she will make sure to succeed using her own name.
“Are you okay? Where do you want to eat?” Daniel asked her after a long silence enveloped them both while they were in the middle of the journey.
Even though Lilian didn’t want to, she let him drive her back to the townhouse where she was hiding and where she was currently staying.
Lilian wanted to return to the city, but after the attempted attack on Jacob and Ruby that night, Daniel decided to keep her away until she was capable of defending herself. She accepted Daniel’s offer because, at that moment, there was nothing left for her but herself.
She shook her head slightly and offered a faint smile.
“I’m still full. I’ll just cook at the townhouse. There are still some groceries left there. You should go home early so you would have time for your future spouse, Dr. Martin,” Lilian casually replied and turned her gaze back to the window.
“She’s fine. She knows I’m at work and-”
“Which is not true. You’re lying to your fiancé to save me, Dr. Martin. Please stop doing that,” Lilian interrupted, cutting off Daniel’s words.
“I’m not lying to her to save you, Lilian. It’s the truth,” Daniel replied firmly.

Lilian shook her head and tilted it to look at Daniel. The man’s forehead was furrowth, Bis irritation clearly evident. She let out a harsh sigh and simply shook her head before turning, her gaze back to the window.
“I’m deeply grateful to you, Daniel, for helping me, but I hope you don’t use this as a reason to ruin your relationship with your fiancé. I don’t want to be the cause of any problems. Let’s just keep things… professional.”
Daniel didn’t respond; he continued driving in silence. By the time they arrived at the townhouse, the silence between them remained unbroken.
They were greeted by the elderly caretaker of Daniel’s townhouse, Marita, who quickly goa along with Lilian within just a few days.
“Sir Daniel, there is a visitor at the house next door. Mr. Evans is inviting you to come because he said he has something to say about the wedding,” said the old woman.
Daniel and Lilian exchanged glances upon hearing the mentioned name. Daniel immediately grabbed Lilian’s hand and guided her inside the townhouse while looking around, as if observing.
“Why are they in the other house, Marita?” Daniel asked. Lilian was also waiting for an answer while feeling the intense pounding of her heart.
“They say they’re here for a week vacation with his fiancé, sír. This is the place recommended by the woman’s father,” she replied to him.
After Marita conveyed that to her boss, she immediately returned to the kitchen. Daniel and Lilian were left in the living room, not knowing what to do.
“What are we going to do? They might suddenly come here. Why do they know this place?” Lilian’s questions came one after another to Daniel. Her heart began to be enveloped by overwhelming anxiety once again.
“Hey, hey…” Daniel called out to her when he noticed her pacing back and forth. “Calm down, Lil. Sit down first.”
Lilian bit her lower lip and followed Daniel’s instructions. She collapsed onto the sofa, still very scared.

“I’ll figure it out, okay? For now, don’t go out while they’re here,” Daniel said gently, 55 i trying to comfort her.
Lilian couldn’t help but stare into Daniel’s expressive eyes. That was always what she loved to see when they were still in a relationship because it brought her peace,
And now, she doesn’t know why she still feels that way.
“What if… he sees me here?” Lilian asked, her voice shaky and laced with fear.
The words barely escaped her lips, almost as if she were whispering them to herself, afraid of even voicing the thought. Her chest tightened, a heavy knot forming in her stomach, Daniel quickly took hold of Lilian’s trembling hands. In an instant, it stopped while the man
held her.
“I’ll stay here with you for the meantime, until they leave.”
“But what about your fiancé, Daniel?” Lilian immediately countered.
Daniel shook his head and gently caressed her hands.
“I’ll call her. I’ll handle it. Just rest and take your medicine. Come on,” Daniel said gently, guiding her to her feet.
But before they could even take a step toward the stairs, three sharp knocks broke their moment, grabbing their attention.
“Dr. Martin! Are you there? We brought something for you!”
Lilian’s eyes widened in shock as she recognized the voice. It was Ruby–she was sure of it!
