“Oh, my god che” Lillial screamed and run towards her
They immediately embraced each other, their schs and laughter echoing through Lilian’s office as they finally let go.
“God! I missed you! You’ve been gone forever Chloe exclaimed, playfully smacking her arm. She gave her a once over from head to toe, as if she couldn’t believe what she was
“Shit. You looked so… different. What did Daniel do to you? You look better than me now!
They both burst into laughter and sat down in the visitor’s area. From there, the freezing city was clearly visible because it was already winter season. Fortunately, it was this office that Olivia gave to Lilian because she really liked this place.
It’s just right for her, but the adjacent room on the left side of the room is big because that’s where she usually draws and sews her new designs.
Lilian is living her dream right now. Before, she would only read about scenarios like this in articles, but now almost every article that comes out includes her name.
“Who told you I was here? I was about to call you after my working hours,” Lilian began. Chloe’s eyes darted around the office, her wide smile giving away just how proud she felt. “Daniel called me and asked me to visit you. Actually, it was last week, but he told me to

wait Now I understand why I had to hold off before seeing you again,” Chloe explained.
Lilian’s mouth momentarily fell open. She didn’t expect Daniel to do that. She knew that he was also busy at the hospital because of the major surgery scheduled for him.
“So, you’re now famous, huh? Is this part of your revenge? I really thought you just let that asshole and his mistress be,” Chloe commented in disgust at what she mentioned last.
Lilian shook her head and smirked. “You know this has always been what I wanted. This is Past how I’m starting out.”
“And Daniel helped–and is still helping you, huh? I heard you’re engaged now. So, where’s the ring?” Chloe teased with a grin.
Lilian shyly showed the ring that Daniel had given her three months ago. It was simple for Lilian because she knew it was just for business between them, so she didn’t put much
attention to it.
“Oh my god. Is this from Indigo Jewels?” Chloe blurted out. “I saw this ring on their site! This is super expensive, Lil! It’s worth millions.”
Lilian’s jaw dropped at the revelation. She had no idea and didn’t know how to react.
Before she could say anything, the door suddenly opened, drawing both their attention. Her eyes instantly met Daniel’s.
“Oh, I’m sorry. I’ll just come back later-”
“No, it’s okay. You can stay. I’ll be leaving soon too. Let’s go together,” Lilian quickly interrupted Daniel and discreetly withdrew her hand from Chloe’s.
Chloe chuckled and stood up. Daniel fully entered the room and immediately greeted Chloe.
“Thank you for visiting her,” Daniel whispered to Chloe, making her grin even wider.
“I told Olivia to wait for us at L’Opera. Are you ready for the interview?” Daniel’s tone shifted noticeably when he spoke to Lilian–gentler, calmer. Chloe couldn’t help but notice the change.
The kiss Daniel gave Lilian on the forehead had not yet escaped the woman’s eyes, which
surprised the latter because it was the first time the man had done that. It wasn’t part of their agreement.
“Yes. Olivia also gave me pointers and possible questions for the interview,” Lilian replied, her cheeks turning red.
“Wow. You two look great together–like a happily married couple already. Anyway, I’m tagging along to your press conference. That’s why I’m here,” Chloe said with a smirk, “I want to see how my best friend will slay it. I’m sure your bastard ez and his mistress will be
ere.”
After the scene at Jacob and Ruby’s reception yesterday, media companies have been lining up to invite Lilian for an exclusive interview, but she hasn’t accepted any because she has already scheduled a press conference for this, coinciding with the launch of her new designs and her introduction to the public as Lily.
The news about Lilian being alive and about her being the Lily who is now the right hand of an Olivia Monroe spread quickly around the world. That conference lasted almost an hour, and when it ended, she immediately excused herself to the bathroom because she felt like she was going to throw up due to the overwhelming feelings swirling in her heart.
Lilian was about to head back to the lobby of the tower where the press conference was
held and where Daniel and Chloe were waiting for her, but she almost fell to the floor when
someone suddenly yanked her arm violently.
“You fucking bitch!” Jacob shouted in fury, shoving her against the wall.
Lilian winced as the impact sent a sharp pain through her back, hitting the concrete. Before
she could even react, Jacob grabbed her chin, his grip harsh and unforgiving, as if he might
rip it off.
“L–let me go!” Lilian struggled, her voice trembling.
“So, this is all about revenge, huh? Why? Do you really think you can take me on now? Jacob spat, his voice dripping with contempt. “You have nothing, Lilian. You’re still the worthless woman I married for money. Do you really believe you can pull off your little plans without getting crushed?” His words were filled with venom and rage.
No one passes through the hallway where they are because this is a private bathroom meant only for famous people–Jacob’s perfect timing for cornering Lilian.
Her Husband’s Regret: The Wife Strikes Back
Chapter 14
“I… survived before, when you and your mistress tried to kill me. What makes you think I can’t survive you now?” Lilian managed to choke out, her voice strained as her ex–husband’s grip tightened around her throat.
Jacob’s anger flared even more. His grip on Lilian’s neck tightened even more, causing her feet to completely lift off the ground. Lilian tried to get away from Jacob’s grip but he was
too strong for her.
“You’ll be dead before you ruin me, Lilian. So, if I were you, I’d stop now,” Jacob snarled.
I make sure that man falls with you before either of you can touch what I’ve built!” He raised his hand, ready to strike Lilian, but before he could land the blow, he was suddenly
thrown backward.
“You dare lay your filthy hands on my fiancée, huh?” Daniel hissed coldly; his voice razor–sharp. He stood over Jacob, who was crumpled on the ground, his face nearly shattered from Daniel’s powerful punch. Lilian was unable to move for a moment because of what she witnessed.
