“Yeah, and the whole world knows one of them is you,” Lilian’s blunt response to Daniel.
He didn’t answer her anymore because the man was busy applying gel to her stomach and
started the ultrasound.
what’s your plan? You’re going to be a single mom now,” he said. His eyes were focused on the screen. Lilian couldn’t see his full expression because of the mask.
“And what business is it of yours with my life decisions? You’re just my doctor,” she replied, avoiding Daniel’s gaze. She clasped her hands as she stared at the monitor.
Lilian’s heart raced when she saw a small shadow on the screen. That’s her baby there…
She smiled bitterly as she held back her emotions. Next, she heard what seemed like a
heartbeat. It was fast and strong.
“That’s your baby’s heartbeat,” Daniel muttered.
Her tears slowly ran down, so she quickly wiped them away. Lilian only then realized the situation she was in and what she would face once she gave Jacob what he wanted–divorce.
She wouldn’t want to worry about that. She’s capable of everything. She can raise and support her child alone, but what she can’t accept is what her child will face when he comes out. Above all, she knows what it feels like to be without a father. She doesn’t want her child to experience that, but what else can she do?
She is not the kind of woman who will beg a man just to keep them whole and complete.
“As I said before, you need to improve your nutrition, Ms. Lewis, if you don’t want to endanger the child you are carrying. Eat more nutritious food-”
“Yeah, yeah. I get it. Whatever,” she cut him off and stood up. “Thanks, Dr. Martin.”
When she got the prescription, she was about to leave the examination room, but she paused at what Daniel said next.
“Lilian, I want to talk to you about what happened before.”

Lilian’s gaze was fixed on her feet. She didn’t want to talk about it anymore because if happened a long time ago and she didn’t need any explanation, but she knew Daniel. H16 won’t stop bothering her until he says what he wants to say.
She let out a deep sigh and faced Daniel again.
“What about what happened before? When you cheated on me?” she casually asked him.
Daniel removed the mask he was wearing and immediately directed a serious and tense Dok at her.
“That video was manipulated. It wasn’t me,” he explained clearly to her.
Lilian’s shoulders slumped. She knew it. Yet she just doesn’t want to face it because of too
much fear at that time.
And Daniel’s dad warned her to stay away from his son.
The truth is, Lilian didn’t actually want to break up with Daniel back then. She is smart. The first time she saw the video, she knew it was just edited. That man wasn’t Daniel, and she had no idea who that was. She was ready to tell Daniel everything, but at the same time, Daniel’s dad visited her apartment, giving her a warning to leave his son right away, or else her studies would be affected.
Lilian bitterly smiled. “And? That was three years ago, Dr. Martin. No big deal.”
Daniel paused for a moment. Lilian frowned when she saw the pain in Daniel’s eyes, but it quickly disappeared and was replaced by a cold expression. He turned his back on her and went to the table.
“I just wanted to clear my name. I didn’t have the chance to explain myself to you because you suddenly disappeared. Now that you know the truth…” Daniel trailed off and glanced at her. Lilian was taken aback when he smirked at her. “I’m no longer part of your bad taste now. See you on your next check up, Ms. Lewis.”
That was the last thing Daniel said, so Lilian also went out. The moment she stepped out, she finally let out her breath. Now she has even more to think about.
