Chapter 9
Lilian quickly hid behind the large tree by the gate, covering her mouth and watching the two enter their house. It seems that Ruby has officially moved into their house now, and she is pregnant.
Did Jacob prefer to abort their child because Ruby was already pregnant and he loved his Mistress’s child more?
Lilian was too stunned to speak until the two of them completely disappeared from her sight. She was left utterly despondent. The anger she had been trying to bury deep inside her slowly began to rise in her heart, especially when she remembered what happened to her poor child. Her baby hadn’t even seen the world, and it was its own father who had caused its death.
If earlier she was determined to talk to and plead with her husband to accept her and not throw her away, now it seems that idea has suddenly vanished like a bubble in her mind.
Her vision was gradually darkening, and it seemed like she was going to vomit. Her heart continued to pound heavily. Even her trembling hands felt nothing due to the extreme cold and pain.
Lilian couldn’t think of anything during that time. She wants to hurt Jacob so bad her hands
are itching. She wanted to make the man feel the pain she was feeling now. She wanted to
make him suffer a million times over. She wanted to get back at him for what he did to her,
but she didn’t know how.
Lilian stayed there for a few more hours before she made a decision. Hugging herself, she entered through the back gate of the house and passed behind the door where the dirty kitchen was. There was no light in the living room, only the lampshade on the side table. Lilian looked up at the second floor where their bedroom was, and there she heard the laughter of the two and a few moans.
Her teeth were clenched in extreme anger. She went back to the kitchen and took the knife that was there. She was about to step onto the first rung of the stairs when suddenly someone pulled her and covered her mouth.
“Let me go, you jerk!” Lilian screamed as Daniel roughly lowered her. That was when she
realized they were outside again. She couldn’t fathom how he had gotten her there so quickly!
“What the hell were you trying to do, huh? Were you trying to kill them?!” Daniel’s voice thundered around them, Suddenly, Lilian felt a rush of fear, worried that Jacob and Ruby might hear them.
Lilian bit her lower lip tightly while her hands were trembling. She was still holding the wife she had taken earlier,
“So, what…?” She trembled in fear and agony, “You’re right, I wanted to kill them, but you stopped me! Is that so wrong? They wanted to kill me too, but they failed! I just want revenge! What the hell do you care?!” Lilian’s anger erupted, her emotions finally spilling
over,
The mixed emotions that Lilian had been holding back finally erupted like a volcano. She violently threw the knife she was holding and let out a muffled scream while covering her entire face.
“I… I want them dead for what they did to me and my child! I want them to feel the pain they caused me! I want them to break! I want them to die over and over again, just like I feel right now, Daniel! Why are you stopping me? Why are you still here?! Why are you still bothering me?!” Lilian roared, her tears streaming down her face.
Daniel just kept staring at her while hearing her struggle with what she wanted to do. He knew that Lilian was being consumed by her intense anger right now, but she couldn’t do it. She’s not that kind of person.
The truth is, Daniel did not leave the place. He just parked his car a short distance away and walked back. There he saw Lilian entering the house, so he immediately followed her. He thought she was just going to talk to Jacob, but he was extremely frightened when he saw her take a knife.
Lilian finally sat down on the ground as Daniel heard her muffled sobs. He took a deep breath and calmed himself. He quietly approached Lilian and gently stroked her head.
“Hush now, Lilian. I’m here…” Daniel muttered. He could feel how his heart was shattering while hearing Lilian’s sobs.
“If you want revenge, I can give you that, just don’t do this to yourself. Stop hurting yourself

more, I’ll help you, hmm?” Daniel continued to soothe Lilian.
Lilian was momentarily silenced, she was still sobbing, winen she looked up at Daniel, whio was sitting across from her, she felt like a helpless child who had fallen and no one was there to help heal her wounds,
“W–what do you mean?” Lilian stuttered,
Daniel’s once hard expression softened, his eyes growing hazy. He lowered his hand from
er head to her cheek, gently wiping away the tears from her eyes,
“If you want to crush them, let’s crush them. I’ll help you, but not like this. Let’s destroy them in a way that they’ll never survive.”
Three months later…
“Let’s welcome our newlyweds, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob and Ruby Evans!” the emcee announced at the reception.
Just like the church, the venue for their wedding was equally lavish. The entire event space, a 5–star luxury hotel, was adorned with red roses. The grand chandelier in the center, right
above the stage, added to the elegance of the place.
The room erupted in thunderous applause as Jacob and Ruby stepped out and stood at the center of the stage, clearly visible to everyone. It was impossible to miss the slight bump in
Ruby’s white dress, unmistakable proof that she was pregnant.
After the applause, a deafening sound followed from the glasses as the guests began to hint
at their desires–to have the newlyweds kiss in front of everyone.
Jacob faced Ruby, unable to contain his joy.
“I’m so happy, babe. Finally… we’re married!” Ruby hissed as she clung onto Jacob’s white
vest.
“I love you so much, Ruby. I’m also very happy because we have finally fulfilled our long–held dream,” Jacob said, tears welling in his eyes.
The moment their lips met, the large door at the entrance opened, drawing everyone’s attention there. Everyone fell silent for a moment as they seemed to be scrutinizing who the

two newcomers were.
“Congratulations, Mr. and Mrs. Evans. We’re sorry we’re a little late,” Lilian greeted the two, her hand shaking as she finally removed her glasses. Daniel, standing beside her and holding her hand, kept his gaze straight ahead.
The shock and fear were evident in Jacob and Ruby’s eyes as they recognized who their last guest was that day. The whispers from the guests started to spread, amplifying the tension in the room.
