Shiloh decided to take her son and daughter there to prevent Adrian from tracking her to Mae’s estate.
Though reluctant to see her go, Mae respected her decision.
Adrian, having received Cody’s message, rushed to the hospital.
Jeff was already reviewing the hospital’s surveillance footage. All they saw was Shiloh leaving with Travis, getting into a black car, and disappearing.
It was evident she had prepared in advance, successfully shaking off his men.
Adrian’s expression darkened, his black eyes burning with fury. “Keep searching,” he ordered coldly.
As he left the hospital, another thought struck him.
“Find out why Shiloh was at the hospital in the first place,” Adrian said, his voice low and laced with icy
intent.
The next morning, Travis stirred awake, his cheeks tickled by something soft. He sniffled and heard Shiloh’s gentle voice nearby.
Shiloh said, “Nora, don’t wake Travis. Let me take you to make some milk, Okay?”
It hit him that he had gone home with his mom yesterday.
Opening his eyes, the first thing he saw was Nora’s bright, sparkling gaze.
The moment she noticed he was awake, she cheerfully called out, “Travis!”
Shiloh, hearing the commotion, turned to him with a soft smile. “Travis, if you’re still sleepy, you can rest a bit longer.
Travis shook his head, staring at her in a daze.
Waking up by his mother’s side filled him with a warmth he hadn’t felt in so long.
Shiloh gently touched his forehead and, finding his fever gone, took both children down for breakfast.
After breakfast, she brought them outside to play in the yard. The garden featured a large swing. Shiloh pushed it gently as Travis and Nora sat side by side.
“Mommy, higher!”
With Travis there to play with, Nora squealed with delight, waving her little arms in the air.
Hearing Nora’s constant calls of “Travis,” the gloom that had clouded Travis since his hospital stay finally lifted, and a genuine smile spread across his face.
Over the next three days, Travis was a completely different child. He enjoyed every meal, slept beside Shiloh and Nora at night, and woke up each morning to Nora’s cheerful calls.

When Adrian arrived, he found Travis laughing freely for the first time in ages, running around the yard with Nora chasing after him.
The sunlight bathed the two children in a golden glow. Shiloh sat on the swing nearby, watching them with a tender gaze.
Travis held the string of a child’s kite as Nora chased behind him. Even when she tripped on the grass, she quickly got up and resumed her pursuit.
Suddenly, the kite string snapped.
Travis held Nora’s hand, guiding her to retrieve the kite, only to freeze when he saw Adrian standing at the gate.
“Dad,” he murmured, startled.
Shiloh had been aware of Adrian’s arrival from the moment his car entered the neighborhood. Her bodyguards had informed her immediately.
She knew it was only a matter of time before he found her.
Over the past few days, she had made up her mind. She didn’t want to be Adrian, but she would keep her children. She would raise and educate them on her own terms.
Adrian stood at the gate, impeccably dressed in a tailored suit, his sharp features accentuated by his stormy expression.
His deep, dangerous black eyes locked onto Shiloh, his tightly pressed lips radiating authority.
Behind him, a line of bodyguards stood silently at a respectful distance.
Adrian’s demeanor was calmer than Shiloh had anticipated. She instructed the housekeeper to take the children inside and remained seated on the swing to confront Adrian alone.
In the yard, Adrian strode over, stopping not far away, towering over her as he gazed down.
His mind replayed Jeff’s report from earlier.
“Mrs. Frost visited the hospital to see Killian, the recently recovered son of the Shaffer family.”
Adrian remembered Killian from years ago. The man had stood outside the Frost family the night before Adrian and Shiloh’s wedding.
Killian was Shiloh’s first love.
Adrian’s cold eyes narrowed, his tone carrying a sharp edge. “Shiloh, who gave you permission to take my
son?”
Shiloh’s lips curled into a mocking smile. “Should I have left him in the hospital, sick and miserable?*
Adrian’s anger surged, his entire presence radiating fury. “What right do you have to take him?”
Her heart clenched at his derisive tone, but she forced herself to stay composed. “I’m his mother. Isn’t that reason enough?”
Adrian’s knuckles whitened as he clenched his fists. “Now you remember you’re his mother? Where were

Shiloh’s eyes reddened, a sheen of tears forming as she bit back the lump in her throat. “Do you think I didn’t want to be there, Adrian? You’re the one who didn’t give me the chance!
“When Travis sat alone on the hospital terrace, where were you as his father? You were busy escorting Jessie to her film set!”
For a moment, Adrian was taken aback by the glimmer of tears in her eyes. But just as quickly, his gaze turned cold, and a sneer crept onto his lips.
