Noticing the envy in Travis’s eyes, Shiloh placed her daughter on the small deer chair by the door, took out a fresh towel, and wrung it dry to wipe his face.
His eyes sparkled, clearly unable to hide his joy.
At the breakfast table, Travis stole a glance at Shiloh. When their eyes met and she gave him a gentle look. he shyly lowered his head.
Nora, holding onto her nightgown, covered her mouth and giggled, looking incredibly cute.
Shiloh brought out the breakfast and casually mentioned that Adrian had come to pick him up the night before.
Shiloh said, “Your dad came to get you, but you were asleep, and he didn’t want to wake you up, so he let you stay here.”
No matter how much she disliked Adrian, Shiloh didn’t want to intentionally ruin his image as a father in Travis’s eyes.
The doorbell rang.
It was Adrian, here to pick up the kids.
Behind him was Marty. When Marty saw Travis sitting with Nora at the table, he pouted, feeling a bit wronged.
He used to have breakfast with Travis every day.
Now, not only had he not seen Travis at dinner last night, nor at breakfast this morning, but seeing him being so kind to Nora only made him angrier.
Travis asked, “Dad, why are you here so early?”
Adrian reminded him, “Did you forget that you promised Jessie last week that you’d go to the aquarium. today?”
Today, Adrian certainly seemed different than usual.
He was dressed casually and looked much younger.
Travis glanced at Marty, who was hiding behind Adrian, and confessed honestly, “Dad, it wasn’t me who promised. It was Marty who wanted to go to the aquarium, and that’s why he agreed with Jessie.”
Marty, who had been called out, actually had already forgotten about the promise he made to Jessie.
He just wanted to hang out with Travis.
But since he had promised Jessie, he couldn’t back out now,
It was Marty who had promised to go to the aquarium, not Travis, so he said directly, “Dad, you can take Marty, I want to stay and play with Nora.”
“I can ride home with the driver tonight.”

Adrian said. “Marty, you asked to go to the aquarium. Jessie is waiting for you at the door. Are you backing
out now?”

Adrian took Marty downstairs, but Marty kept looking back as he walked.
“Dad, do you think Travis and I can come and play with Nora next weekend?” Marty asked hesitantly.
Seeing the hopeful look in his eyes, Adrian couldn’t bring himself to refuse, so he said, “When Nora’s dad isn’t around, we can arrange that.”
Travis scratched his head. He remembered that when they were in Oklark Village, Nora had said she didn’t have a dad.
But whatever. As long as his dad agreed, it was fine.
Adrian arranged for the bodyguard to accompany Jessie and Marty to the aquarium, while he went back to the office to work overtime.
But before next weekend arrived, Mac had an accident.
Due to a staff error, she fell from the wire and sustained multiple abrasions. She was rushed to a nearby hospital.
Shiloh quickly packed up with her daughter and rushed to Mae’s city that night.
When Mae saw that Shiloh had brought Nora, she quickly tried to get up, disapproving. “Why did you bring Nora here? Go back and rest.”
Shiloh immediately stopped her, saying, “Don’t move, don’t hurt yourself again.”
Mac sighed and then comforted her. “Loh, don’t worry. I’ve always been lucky. I’ll be fine.”
Nora patted her mom’s shoulder. Shiloh bent down to hold her, and the little one kissed Mae on her uninjured cheek.
“It won’t hurt anymore, Nora said.
Mae said, “Nora really is my sweet little treasure.”
Mae wanted to hold Nora, but Shiloh didn’t agree.
Although Mae wasn’t seriously injured, she had many abrasions and wasn’t in the condition to hold a child.
She would be staying in the city with Mae this weekend..
Remembering the promise she made to Travis, Shiloh sent him a message that same day, explaining the situation through a voice note.

Shiloh’s voice in the voice message was soft and gentle. She briefly explained what had happened.
The message ended with Nora’s sweet voice, “Travis, be good and wait for me.”
Travis had been holding Adrian’s phone, listening to the message repeatedly. When he learned that Shiloh and Nora weren’t in Metta, he felt disappointed.
But since Shiloh promised to call him once she returned, his unhappiness quickly faded.
Shiloh stayed in the city with Mac for a few days. When Mae was discharged, the three of them flew back to Metta.
That night, as the lights of the city came on, Adrian walked into the dining room and immediately spotted a familiar figure.
Shiloh was wearing a light purple dress, and her long black hair was tied back, exposing her slender, fair neck.
