Shiloh saw what Jessie had done and quickly scooped Nora into her arms, bending down to check if she was hurt.
Nora, frightened, started crying. “Mommy, I’m scared.”
Her soft, pink face was flushed from crying.
Travis looked at Nora being comforted in Shiloh’s arms, and his tears streamed down his face.
Shiloh held Nora with one arm and wiped Travis’s tears with the other. “Nora, don’t worry. Mommy’s here. Travis, stop crying. Nora is fine.”
The noise from the parking lot caught the attention of the people inside.
Mae, unable to reach Shiloh by phone, rushed over with a few others.
Shiloh had just managed to calm Travis when Adrian, with a serious expression, spoke up, “Travis, why push Jessie?”
Shiloh looked up, incredulous. How could he say something like that?
Adrian met her gaze impassively, and she smiled bitterly.
Whether it was two years ago or now, whether as his wife or as his son, everything had to give way to Jessie.
If this wasn’t resolved today, the thorn in Travis’s heart would never go away.
She kissed Nora’s cheek and handed her over to Mae, then squatted down and pulled Travis into her arms.
Stung by Adrian’s words, Travis instinctively buried his face into her shoulder, his small hands clutching her neck.
Shiloh exchanged a look with Mae, who nodded.
In unison, they covered the children’s ears.
“Adrian, did Jessie save your life or something?
“First you want me to apologize, now you want Travis to apologize. Does your relationship with her depend on us apologizing to keep it intact?”
Adrian hadn’t seen Jessie’s little trick, only that Travis had pushed her for no apparent reason.
His dark eyes hardened, and his voice grew icy. “The Frost family’s children should never be unreasonable.

s with Shiloh, each word dripping with cold precision. “You’re the one who’s spoiling the children, aren’t you?”
Shiloh’s cars rang as a wave of numbness swept over her chest.
She stared at Adrian’s cold, flawless face, and everything she had endured over the past five years with him

Shiloh’s gaze was locked on Adrian’s face. If not for the children being present, she would have slapped him right then.
“My biggest mistake in life was marrying you.”
At the sadness in her eyes, Adrian felt a lump form in his throat.
His pale fingers clenched into a fist, and he fought to suppress the rising tide of emotion.
Shiloh said. “You never even asked for an explanation before blaming the child. Is this how you act as a father? How can you expect the kids to trust you if this is how you behave?”
Adrian looked at Travis’s tear–filled eyes, and his heart softened.
He extended his hand slowly, his voice gentler. “Travis, I didn’t scold you. But you shouldn’t push people without reason. After you apologize to Jessie, I’ll take you to play.”
Shiloh, still holding Travis, pulled him away from Adrian’s hand, her voice dripping with contempt.
“Adrian, I honestly wonder how you ever became the president of the Qadena Group with that mind of yours. It’s so stupid, I don’t even want to argue with you.”
She looked at Jessie, her expression one of sudden realization.
“Of course, it makes sense now. Spending every day with someone as two–faced and hypocritical as her, it’s normal even if you are stupid.”
Normally, Adrian remained calm and collected, even in the most difficult negotiations, appearing like an emotionless machine. But now, in front of her, his anger flared with ease.
“Shiloh!” he barked.
Shiloh glared at him, her eyes full of mockery. “What are you shouting for?”
Shiloh had thought that at least Adrian was wholehearted with his children. But seeing how he was blatantly favoring Jessie right in front of her, she knew she was wrong.
She closed her eyes for a moment, her resolve solidifying.
“Adrian, you’re right. The children have the right to choose whether they want to be with their mom or their dad. Since that’s the case, why not let them decide?”
Adrian paused, his breath catching. “What do you mean?”
Shiloh spoke calmly, her voice detached. “Let’s talk about custody of the children.”
The air around them seemed to freeze in an instant.
Adrian took a step forward, standing directly in front of her. His handsome face was sullen, his deep eyes piercing into hers, radiating an unspoken, chilling menace.
Shiloh had spent five years beside him and understood better than anyone what emotions were swirling

inside him now.
It was a suppressing, furious rage.
