Chapter 24 Play with Nora
Nora’s eyes sparkled as she looked up at the much taller Travis.
Her voice was full of affection as she said. Travis.”
Travis felt a soft warmth in his heart. He took her hand and then looked up at his father.
“Dad, can I play with Nora? Travis asked.

Jessie, holding several kites in her hands, watched the scene unfold, feeling a deep sense of discomfort.
She had expected Adrian to refuse, but to her surprise, he nodded. The sight made her nearly rip the kites.

When Marty heard Travis, he quickly chimed in. “Dad, I want to play with Travis too.”
He cautiously reached for Nora’s other hand, holding it gently as if afraid to hurt her.
Nora glanced at him, hesitated for a moment, and then held his hand.
Mae leaned toward Shiloh, a grin spreading across her face as she said, “Sweetie, your three little ones are such a delight. They’re truly gorgeous. The genes are amazing.
Shiloh gave her a sideways glance and replied, “You like kids that much? Why don’t you have one of

Mae quickly waved her hands in rejection. “No. Having Nora as my goddaughter is more than enough. Just look at Jessie’s face right now. She’s practically seething.”
At that moment, Nora, standing by the elevator, looked back and called out, “Mommy, hurry up!”
Shiloh smiled, “On my way, darling.
Jessie, glaring at Adrian’s back, gritted her teeth. He didn’t even notice how much she had been left behind.
She caught up to him, deliberately closing the distance, hoping to create the illusion that they were couple. But Adrian silently stepped away, putting some distance between them.
As soon as they entered the elevator, Jessie pretended to lose her balance and leaned toward Adrian in a soft, feigned gesture.
Adrian instinctively stepped aside, avoiding her.
Disappointed, Jessie murmured, “Adrian, I feel a little dizzy.”
Adrian responded coolly. “If you’re feeling unwell, go back to your room and rest. No need to follow us.”
Jessie looked at him with a sweet, coy smile and said, “No, I’m fine. I just want to be with you and the kids.”
Adrian coldly replied. “They’re fine with me. You don’t need to be here.
Mae watched Jessie’s pretentious act with a mix of amusement and revulsion. She subtly gestured for Shiloh to turn away and ignore the display.
Shiloh gave a self–deprecating smile, no longer surprised by it.

The resort had a large, green lawn.
By the time they arrived, many families were already camping with their children. Aside from the resort’s provided tents and tables, some parents were setting up their own tents with the kids.
Nora, curious, watched the other children and said, “Mommy, I want to play too.”
Shiloh smiled and said, “Alright, let’s set up a tent too. How about we make one just as cute as Nora’s?”
Mae was carrying Nora while Shiloh held Travis’s hand, ignoring Marty, who was trailing behind.
He felt sad but couldn’t stop himself from following them.
Travis waved at him to come play.
Marty quietly glanced at Shiloh’s expression and saw that she still hadn’t paid him any attention..
Why is she so nice to Travis and Nora but not to him? Marty felt wronged.
Jessie, jealous of how Shiloh interacted with the children, was struggling to walk across the grass in her high heels. But she gritted her teeth and kept walking, determined to maintain her elegant composure.
She turned to Adrian and sweetly said, “Adrian, let’s set up a tent for the kids too?”
Adrian, seeing Nora holding something bigger than herself, immediately changed his expression and didn’t respond to her.
He quickly strode over, lifting Nora before she could fall, his voice tinged with concern he didn’t even realize was there.
He said, “You’re so small, and you’re carrying something this big?”
Nora, feeling herself being lifted by the collar, kicked her short legs in confusion and looked up at him.
Oh; it’s the bad man who picks me up.
He held her with one arm, taking the pillow from her hand, and walked a few steps toward Shiloh.
“The child is still so young, and you’re letting her carry things? What if she falls?”
Shiloh had just finished setting up the tent frame with Mae and turned to hear Adrian’s reproach.
Seeing her daughter in his arms and the pillow in his hand, she hadn’t even had a chance to speak before Nora defended herself.
Nora poked Adrian’s cheek and, with an irritated tone, said, “Don’t be mean to Mommy,”
Adrian didn’t respond.
Shiloh glanced at the twins, who were also holding pillows, then looked at her daughter, who was glaring at Adrian. She felt that Adrian’s reaction was a little baffling.
She had let the children carry small, light things, mainly to let them experience participating without causing any harm.
