Chapter 10
Camelia’s POV
In the past, I had neither the energy nor the patience to deal with her petty
schemes.
But now, with Grandpa entrusting me with full authority, it was time to take back what was mine.
I strode confidently into the office, pulling Sacha out of the chair behind my desk
without hesitation.
“Who do you think you are, sitting here like you own the place? A mistress with delusions of grandeur?”
My words, sharp and unforgiving, hit like a drop of water in hot oil, sending the surrounding employees into a frenzy of whispers and shocked glances.
Flustered and enraged, Sacha pointed at the door and shouted, “Get out!”

I calmly swatted her hand aside and said coldly, “The one who should leave is you.”
Her chest heaved with anger, but before she could retaliate further, the door opened, and Darell shuffled in, looking defeated.
Seizing the moment, Sacha leaned against him dramatically. “Darell, please help me! Camelia is trying to kick me out!”
For once, Darell didn’t immediately side
with her or lash out at me like he used to.
Instead, his gaze softened as it landed on me. “Camelia, you‘ re back.”
Not only was I back—I had also taken his position.
To me, his current demeanor was nothing more than an act, and I wasn’t in the
mood to entertain it. I leveled him with a
cold glare and issued a direct order. “Either she leaves, or you both do. Your call,
Darell.”

Darell’s arm, pleading desperately. “Darell, she doesn’t understand you like I do! I’m the only one who truly has your best interests at heart. Grandpa just asked her to help temporarily–there’s no need for you to listen to her about everything!”
She rattled on at lightning speed, trying to prove her worth, but in the face of real authority, her arguments were laughable.
Darell, however, remained silent
throughout her entire spiel.
It wasn’t until I prompted him again, my tone more impatient this time, that he finally looked at Sacha and spoke, his voice strained. “Sacha, you‘ ll understand, won’t you?”
I couldn’t help but laugh out loud at that,
while Sacha stared at him in disbelief.
Tears streamed down her face as she broke
down, crying and shouting. “I don’t understand! Darell, just last night, you held me and said you loved me. And now, today,

you’re treating me like this—for Camelia?”
Hearing her bring up what happened in bed, Darell’s face turned beet red. Then, as if on cue, he turned his signature scolding tone on her–the same one he used to reserve for me.
“That’s enough! You‘ re too emotional right now. This isn’t the time to talk about serious matters. Go home, Sacha. Come back when you’ve calmed down.”
Without waiting for her response, he glanced at me awkwardly, then tugged Sacha out of the office.
As soon as they left, one of the employees who had been sending me messages all this time excitedly ran up and hugged me.
“Camelia, you‘ re finally back! I’m so happy!”
The others chimed in, piling on their
grievances.
“Seriously, Camelia, you have no idea what that woman put us through.”

“She fired every employee who dared to stand up to her. Only a handful of us are
left!”
“If you hadn’t come back, I was ready to resign.”

I patted the secretary‘ s shoulder and
offered some reassurance.
“I know it’s been hard, but I’m here now. Let’s give it our all and turn things around. And don’t worry–any credit that’s due to you will be recognized.”
After giving the team a pep talk, I threw myself into work, busying myself with the monumental task of cleaning up the
company.
Darell tried several times to meet with me, always under the pretense of asking about Kennard, but I shut him down every time.
A month later, with the company finally showing signs of recovery, I allowed myself a moment of relief.
