Chapter 11
Camelia’s POV
Just as I was finishing up, Kennard came in with some comforting drinks and snacks.
He leaned against the door, his tall figure relaxed as he called out to me.
“Ms. Woodward, work is never–ending. You should take a break.”
It was then that I realized I’d been
neglecting him lately. After making the first move, I took his hand and led him outside.
As we sneaked in a little break, the employees, munching on pastries, gave me knowing smiles. I felt a bit embarrassed but quickly recovered, leaning into Kennard’s arms.
I glared back at them, trying to act tough. “What’s the matter? He’s my fiance! So what if we kissed?”
The office erupted in surprised murmurs.

A few brave ones even asked for an invitation to the wedding.
I was about to refuse, but Kennard waved his hand with a smile and said, “Everyone gets one.”
As such, the room burst into cheers. The only one who seemed upset was Darell, standing quietly in the corner.
His face darkened, and he shouted, “Enough! This is still work time!”
Immediately, the room fell silent. I was about to say something when Darell stormed over to where Kennard and I
stood.
“Camelia, don’t you have legs? Can’t you stand on your own?”
This guy… Just as things at the company were looking up, he was already trying to burn bridges.
I had the sudden urge to slap him across the face, but Kennard stopped me. He

reached into his inner coat pocket and pulled out an invitation, handing it to Darell.
“Darell, this invitation is specially made for you. I brought it today just for you. See you there.”
Darell, who had been so smug a moment ago, now stared at the invitation in Kennard’s hand without blinking. His fists clenched tightly, but he made no move to take it.
I couldn’t stand his attitude anymore, so I grabbed the invitation from Kennard and tossed it at Darell. Then I took Kennard’s hand and walked away.
With the wedding approaching, I knew it was time to officially leave Wise Corporation.
As we were wrapping up the handover, I made sure to add, “Darell, as long as you
keep Sacha out of things, you should do just fine.”

However, he wasn’t really listening, absent–mindedly asking, “Camelia, do you really not love me anymore? Are you really going to marry someone else?”
I patted his shoulder and smiled as I left the company. Not everyone would wait for you after they’d been hurt.
“Darell, we’re done for good.”
Soon after, Kennard and I entered
marriage, and he took care of me just like before. The tragic ending with Darell didn’t repeat itself.
The next year, I suggested to Kennard, “Let’s have a baby.”
He was overjoyed, and during my pregnancy, he made sure I had everything I needed.
At that moment, I was certain that leaving Darell had been the best decision I ever
made.
