Chapter 34 Seeing Stefan Again
Ariana Sutton’s POV
When I got home, I saw two black cars parked at the gate of the yard.
There was no space for Lukas to park his car, so he could only drop me off first before he went to search for a parking space.
I walked into the yard and saw Stefan holding a blueprint and talking to someone. When the sunlight shone on him through the grape trellis, he looked like a painting.
Suddenly, a short–haired woman in business attire came out of the kitchen with tea, and I reflexively walked away and hid in
my room.
That woman was the one whom Stefan brought to a hotel the other day. I waited outside the hotel entrance all night, not daring to think about what might have happened between them in his room.
Even when he came here on a business trip, Stefan brought that woman with him…
Following his arrival, Lukas‘ house suddenly felt crowded. But for me, it was a form of torture. The serenity I originally enjoyed was completely shattered.
To avoid meeting Stefan, I only wandered between my room and the kitchen, and most of the time, the kitchen was occupied by the woman whom Stefan brought over. That woman was in charge of his meals and other necessities.
Whenever I ran into her in the kitchen, I would be as silent as a mouse, but every time, she would greet me while I nodded at her in return before scrambling away in a panic.
In the dead of the night, I stepped into the kitchen to cook some food, and once again, I bumped into her.
Perhaps thinking she was just going to pour herself a drink and leave afterward, I didn’t avoid her.
As usual, the woman greeted me, “Do you think something is going on between Mr. Jablonsky and me?”
I looked at her in surprise without uttering a word.
She then smiled and continued, “Sometimes, what the eyes see is not necessarily the truth. Mr. Jablonsky is not that kind of person. I am his assistant. That’s all.”
After speaking, she left with a cup of water.
I didn’t understand why she told me that. Everything about Stefan had nothing to do with me anymore.
After preparing some oatmeal for myself and finishing it, I decided to take a bath.
When I was discharged from the hospital, the doctor reminded me not to get water into the wound for the time being as it was not conducive to recovery. I was well aware of that, so I decided to just be careful.
Thereafter, I went into the bathroom and took off my clothes. I merely turned on the shower when the bathroom door was suddenly pushed open
In a panic, I grabbed my clothes and covered myself. When I made out the figure to be Stefan, I was taken aback. “D–Do you need to use the bathroom! I’ll get out now!”
Stefan looked at me with a blank expression. “Aren’t you a doctor? Shouldn’t you have basic common sense?”
I couldn’t find words to refute him. I wanted to tell him that I would be careful not to wet the wound, but when the words Came to my lips, I just couldn’t say them.
As the bathroom door was shut again, I wiped my body in frustration and managed to feel refreshed afterward, but I had difficulty washing my hair, so I left it untouched.
Since my hair was considered voluminous and I hadn’t been going to the salon for years, it was now waist–length. Moreover, I

it just felt like a burden.

The weather was getting unpredictable now, and it was starting to warm up these few days. I couldn’t stand the torture of not washing my hair, so the idea of chopping off the hair I had kept for years surfaced.
The yard was quiet, and there was not a single shadow there. Even the lights in Stefan’s room were turned off.
I found a pair of scissors and moved the trash can to my feet. Then, I grabbed my long hair and raised the scissors to chop
the hair off.
Before I could exert force, though, someone snatched my scissors away from me!
