Chapter 35 Cutting Off His Favorite Long Hair
Ariana Sutton’s POV
I was startled and let out a low cry, causing the wound on my forehead to hurt due to the sharp pain. Soon, I broke out in a cold sweat
When I saw who it was, I frowned and asked, “What are you doing?”
The person who stopped me was Stefan’s assistant.
She let out a sigh of relief and uttered, “Seems like you wanted to wash your hair, but you find it inconvenient, am I right? Let me help you. It’s a pity to cut such beautiful hair.”
I wanted to decline her offer, but she had already gone to the bathroom to fetch some warm water with a basin.
Somehow, I found things to be awkward. First, Stefan came to stop me from showering, and now that I wanted to cut my hair, his assistant came to stop me for no reason
All of a sudden. I recalled the reason I kept my long hair was that Stefan liked it.
Whenever he was drunk and pinned me under him, he often played with it between his fingers, looking obsessed with my long hair. Since then, I had never trimmed my hair.
Now, I no longer had to please him. It didn’t matter if I didn’t keep my hair long anymore.
Looking in the direction of the bathroom. I grabbed the scissors once again, took a deep breath, and chopped my long hair off before throwing them into the trash can.
Since I wanted to start anew, I should do it thoroughly.
When the assistant came out, she was stupefied for a long time. She probably didn’t expect that I would cut off my long hair so decisively.
Since I was a restless person, I resumed my work at the hospital the next day.
The incident with the troublemakers in the hospital should have passed. Without their ‘leader, the minions probably wouldn’t cause a fuss again. As long as I didn’t bring trouble to the hospital, they wouldn’t suspend me.
Sitting in my office, I faintly heard a funeral procession approaching from far away.
I got up and went to the window to see for myself. A team of mourners walked past the hospital carrying the coffin and the photo of the deceased.
That was the local folk customs. They prioritized sending the deceased off with a grandiose funeral, as how they would celebrate their birth.
When I saw the face of the deceased in the photo, my heart raced. It was the man who almost killed me! He didn’t escape death after all!
As a doctor, I should be used to seeing death, but seeing a live person die not by disease or natural death, especially when 1 was involved in it, made me uncomfortable.
Thinking of the way Lukas fired the shot, I shuddered for no reason and felt dizzy.
When I came home after getting off work in the evening, I bumped into Lukas crouching at the door and talking on the phone. He greeted me, “Hey, why did you cut your hair?”
The smile on his face reminded me of his ferocious look, so I responded with a hum and scurried back to the room.
After much deliberation, I figured that I should cancel the lease.
Criginally, I returned to this place because it was my birthplace. However, the series of events that happened recently made

When that seed of thought germinated in my mind, it immediately got out of control.

Not slating to meet his eyes, I stuttered, ‘I–I’m just informing you that I’ll move out. I don’t need the deposit anymore. Just transfer me the rent for the remaining two months-”

That my lips and argued, “It’s nothing. I just don’t want to stay here anymore.
Amysterious look presented on Lakas‘ face as he probed, “Is it because of Stefan?”
I didnt want to bash it out with him, so I replied nonchalantly, “Yeah, if you want to think so
As sur as I blurted those words, I caught a glimpse of a figure standing at the entrance, prompting me to take a sharp breath.
