I didn’t have time to speak with James. Moreover, I didn’t want to know anything about him, so I returned to the office immediately after receiving Cabot and Paget’s test results.
When I walked in. I lowered my head and began carefully perusing the laboratory test results. However, I didn’t see Paget coming, so I ran smack into his arms, and his powerful muscles threw me back two steps.
He was taller than Lukas and stood at least 6 feet tall, resembling a solid mass of flesh. Seeing him standing there stressed me
The sight of him rendered me numb, and I uttered, “Sorry, I didn’t see you-”
Then, he stretched out his hand to straighten me up. “It’s okay. Dr. Sutton. The transplant operation should be fine, right?”
“No problem, the operation can be performed in a few days. You can wait first.”
1 nodded, and then I saw Paget breathe a sigh of relief. “That’s good. I wonder if you’re free tonight, Dr. Sutton, though. I would like to invite you to dinner on behalf of the Sartre Family.”
I didn’t dare to refuse, so I asked weakly, “Is Stefan going?”
I could attend the dinner even if he does. On the other hand, if he isn’t going, I won’t even risk going, even if I have to pretend that I’m going
to die”
He was stunned when he heard that, but suddenly a figure walked into the office before he had time to speak.
Then Paget bowed slightly. “Hello, Stefan.”
There was something odd about Stefan’s expression, and he said, “Hey, Paget, what are you doing here?”
I was taken aback for a while. There’s no way he could be older than Paget.
Stefan and Lukas were about the same age. Since Paget was the eldest son of the Sartre Family, he should be older than Stefan. Why did it seem like the other way around instead?
Paget explained, “I would like to treat Dr. Sutton to a meal as a token of my gratitude. Stefan, would you like to come too?”
Stefan’s gaze moved slightly. There’s no need for a meal. She doesn’t like that kind of occasion.”
Suddenly, Paget glanced at me and said calmly, “Then, I’ll go first. See you again.”
Watching Paget walk away, I breathed a sigh of relief. “What are you doing in the hospital?”
Then, he glanced at me and uttered, Tim getting some medicine to reduce heat
Reduce heat? I felt like he was implying something..
Blushing, I sat down and pretended to look at the test results in my hand, not daring to speak..
Unexpectedly, he didn’t intend to let me go like that and said rather persistently, “Dr. Sution, please write me a prescription.”
My face got hotter. “This is the emergency department… I’m not responsible for prescriptions.”
Stefan stretched out his hand and snatched the results from my hand. “It’s important for doctors to focus on their specializations. My prescription must be prescribed by you”
I wanted to send him away quickly, so I took a prescription slip and promptly wrote the names of the medicines on it it. I’m lousy

However, he didn’t take the prescription but stuffed it into the pocket of my white coat. “You keep the prescription. Bring the

As soon as he left. I immediately exchanged shifts with my colleagues so I would work at night and couldn’t go back tonight!
Thinking of what he did last night. I felt my knees go weak.
Although he usually didn’t care to touch me when he was sober, in the past, Stefan wouldn’t flirt with me like that when he was sober, either!
After 10.00PM, he went home and found that I was not there, so he called me for the first time. However, I hung up the call reflexively and turned my phone off.
I had to control myself. Otherwise, if I gave in to my feelings for Stefan and moved back to Grimsdale with him, I would only be prolonging the tragedy I had already endured.
I did not want that to happen.
The next morning, I came home from work early, and when I entered the door, I was careful and tried not to make any
noise.
But when I tiptoed through the door silently like a thief, I saw Stefan sitting on the couch with a sullen face.
