Ariana Sutton’s POV

I subconsciously straightened up, stopped acting like a thief, and unnaturally asked Stefan, “Did you not sleep, or did you wake up early?”
He folded his hands in front of him and looked at me coldly. “What do you think?”
I laughed awkwardly. “You most likely woke up early. I’m exhausted from the night shift. So, I’m going to take a shower and go to bed. You can make breakfast yourself.”
Suddenly, he growled coldly, “Ariana!”
I trembled all over when I heard that. I’m not deaf… I can hear you. What?”
Suddenly, Stefan rose and walked toward me. With one hand propped against the wall, he held me between his body and the wall as he stared at me with ice–cold eyes and said. “You’re avoiding me? Ariana, you’re bold!”
I said weakly. “I came back from the hospital not long ago. Moreover, I’m covered in bacteria and need a wash-
Nevertheless, he shied away from me like I had the plague, but now he was fuming with rage. “Don’t you want to leave? You should let me get tired of you as soon as possible.”
My heart sank suddenly, but I smiled at him defensively instead of showing a sad expression. “I can do anything, but I’m not a prostitute, so there’s no need to insult me. Your words hurt people, but I already knew this long ago. So, let me tell you that I used to be willing because I liked you, but now, I don’t want to anymore.”
After I finished speaking, Stefan stared at me blankly and remained silent.
The half–minute stalemate was longer and more tiring than any operation I had experienced before.
In the end, before he slammed the door and left, he said, “You probably don’t understand that from the beginning; it has never been your decision to make.
After he left. I took a shower but didn’t feel sleepy. So, I ate breakfast while distracted, took care of the newly bought flowers and plants on the balcony, and then checked my phone for a while.
I was aware of my current state. My body was tired and reminded me to rest, but the dark fog in my heart prevented me from falling asleep, so I started to have a headache that hurt badly.
Suddenly, there was a movement of a door opening outside, and I reflexively sat up from the bed and listened carefully to distinguish who it was.
It was r
not Stefan….
His footsteps had always been steady and not so lively.
Soon, Lukas voice sounded from outside the bedroom. “Stefan has returned to Grimsdale, but I have to stay for a few more days, so please excuse me. I also think it’s not appropriate to stay here alone with you, but I don’t want to stay with my mother either. She nags too much and thinks I should get married soon. We can’t get along.”
Eresponded with a grunt, closed my eyes, and forced myself to sleep. Anyway, the master bedroom belonged to Stefan, so whomever he allowed to stay in it had nothing to do with me.
The most important thing was that judging from our previous encounter, Lukas was not bad.
When I woke up, it was already evening. As I was cooking, he came out after smelling my cooking. At the dining table, I ate silently, but my head still hurt a little, and the pain made me feel weak. However, he seemed to be in a good mood and kept chattering
I didn’t pay attention to what he said until he asked, “Do you think I am nothing like my dad?”
I glanced at him lightly. That’s obvious”
Lukas didn’t shy away from it at all. “Yes, that’s too obvious. Everyone knows that I am a real son of the Sartre Family. My father brought my mother back home when she was pregnant with me, and she gave birth to me that night. It didn’t take lon for him to marry my mother, his third wife. Isn’t that interesting?”
