After taking a shower, I returned to the room, and only then did I have time to open the gift from the Sartre Family.
It was a necklace, and the oval blue gemstone on the pendant was encircled by smaller diamonds. I was startled by the realization that I had been given something of great value, and I couldn’t help but feel a sense of panic.
