I shook my head, then got ready to enter the
car.
However, Robert grabbed my hand. “What‘ s the meaning of this? You‘ re gone all night and now you‘ re moving out? Trudy, don’t push it too far. If you keep this up, I won’t make it easy for you to come back.”
He sneered. “If you think I’ll beg you to return, keep dreaming.”
I finally turned to look at him and smiled faintly. “Robert, I’m tired. I’m done waiting for you.”
After I said that, I got into the car.

Through the car window, his sneering voice
could be heard, “Fine. I’ll take it that you’re acting like a spoiled princess. Take some time to cool off and think about where you went wrong.”
Anthony as the only heir of the Norton Family, could not have a a quiet engagement even if he wanted to. Despite the short notice, the Norton Family’s wealth and influence would ensure everything was arranged perfectly in no time.

engaged to Anthony, their joy was mixed with surprise.
My mother pulled me aside, her tone both excited and cautious. “How did this happen? You never even liked Anthony when you were kids.”
I blushed and said, “I was young back then and he used to tease me a lot. However, people grow up. Please, don’t bring up the past.”
The elders were happy. Anthony’s mother even opened her safe that very night to pick out dazzling jewels for me, while worrying that every piece wasn’t sparkled or bright

The day of my engagement to Anthony also happened to be the day of Diana’s solo
performance.
Her concert was a success, but it was completely overshadowed by my engagement banquet. It was a grand and romantic affair attended by all the city‘ s elite.
Meanwhile, Robert had booked the largest private room in a luxury hotel to celebrate Diana’s sole concert. He invited a crowd of friends, but only a handful showed up.
His frustration was palpable as he looked around the empty room. “Why isn’t anyone
coming? They’re not even answering their phones!”
