Robert’s parents rushed forward and pulled him behind to stop him. “Robert, what are you doing? Are you out of your mind? If you want to throw a tantrum, find another place. Today is the Norton and Payton families‘ engagement banquet. What are you thinking?”
Diana stepped in and explained, “No, Uncle and Auntie, please don’t misunderstand. Robert had always planned to get engaged to Trudy. It’s just that unforeseen
circumstances forced him to cancel

you ever considered how Robbie feels? After so many years together, how could you do something so heartless like this?”
I couldn’t help but laugh in rage and looked coldly at her, “Diana, are you seriously playing innocent right now? Are you pretending not to know why Robert canceled our engagements? With what right do you stand here and question me?”
“Let’s review everything, shall we?” I said, “When we were having our first engagement ceremony, you claimed you were sick while abroad and missing him. He left our engagement ceremony which was full of guests and me to fly halfway around the world to be with you.”

“The second time, on the morning of our engagement, you announced you had to do a solo trip to clear your mind. The implication was clear that because Robert would engage with me it made you feel heartbroken. He chased after you and abandoned me once again.”
“How about the third time? You scheduled
your solo violin concert on the exact same day as our engagement. Everyone in the world knew what you were trying to say. Now, you still asked me the reason, huh? Stop acting! Why didn’t you ask yourself, if you don’t love him and don’t want to marry
him, why do you keep him on a leash? Why do you let him play the role of your lapdog while you are acting like a pitiful victim?”
