People always said that a reserved man was more appealing than a passionate one. Lily used to disagree, but when she saw Robert, she couldn’t help but realize their point. Of course, it didn’t hurt that he was undeniably attractive.
His mere gaze seemed to ward off anyone who dared to approach, yet she found herself irresistibly drawn to him. She closed her eyes as she felt pathetic. Being involved with someone like him seemed destined to bring nothing but heartache.
Just then, a knock at the door interrupted her thoughts. “Mr. Taylor?” Samson’s voice came through, lowered in respect.
Robert went to answer it. Despite Lily being naked, she remained seated on the sofa, unfazed. Robert opened the door a few millimeters later and extended his hand to take the bag of clothes.
“Um, is Lily walking funny?” Samson’s mischievous tone slipped through.
Robert frowned, and Samson hurriedly closed the door. Even though he lov Lily heard what he said. She pursed her lips and blushed. Even though she could flirt and talk dirty with Robert, that was only him. If it were someone else, she would blush.

Samson sent over enough clothes for two people Robert approached Lily and handed her the garments. “Wear it.”

Meanwhile, Robert placed his bag on the table and began unpacking his own attire. Inside, he found a pair of pants, a white shirt, and a pair of shoes. Lily examined her own clothes, which she had plenty of in her bag.

Despite her doubts, she decided to wear the clothes. Surprisingly, they fit her perfectly, except for the shoes, which were a bit too big but manageable. stepped ahead and opened the door slightly. Saison, who was still lingering outside, noticed the movement and leaned in to catch a glimpse of Lily. “We’re ready to go,” he confirmed.
Lily felt a bit uneasy but nodded in agreement.
Samson exchanged a glance with Robert. “We’ll slip out through the side door. Mr. Morris is on the hunt for you.”
Robert scoffed. “Quite bold of him to come looking for me.”
Samson glanced at Lily and added, “Yeah.”
Lily pretended she didn’t hear that. She was mindful of Samson’s presence and as such, she toned down her usual flirtatious banter with Robert. If they were alone, she would’ve teased him mercilessly. They followed Samson out through the side gate, where a waiting car awaited them.
Samson settled into the passenger seat while Robert and Lily squeezed into the back. As she leaned against the door, Lily felt utterly drained while Robert took out his phone to text
someone.
Samson caught Lily’s eye in the rear–view mirror and offered her a thumbs–up. Lily rolled. her eyes and turned her attention to the passing scenery.
Every part of her ached, and all she wanted was to sleep. The realization that he had only f*cked her under the influence of substances crushed her spirits. She had thought he was genuinely interested in her charm, but now she knew she had been too full of herself.
