Robert was taken aback,
He only stared quietly at Lily without giving her a response.

On the other hand, Lily chuckled before saying in a low voice, “You said you wouldn’t touch a woman you have no feelings for. So, what you did to me before…”
She smiled and raised her brows a few times.
He stared at her for a bit before laughing mockingly.
Then, he leaned back against his seat, crossed his legs, and replied, “You’re a different story.”
“Oh?” Lily was surprised. “How so?”
Robert had one hand on his thigh, and he tapped his finger subconsciously as he said, “I’ve gotten used to you. So, I don’t feel uncomfortable.”
In other words, that wasn’t enough to prove whether he felt anything for Lily.
Lily chuckled and leaned forward with one elbow against the table. She propped her chin on it and teasingly asked. “What will you do without me? You can’t just rely on me now, can you?”
She realized her speech really gave off the vibe of a pretentious flirt at that instant.
It was a pleasant feeling nonetheless.
She wouldn’t dare to say what she just did before.
There were rules in the house of the Taylor Family. There were even more rules she had to follow back.
then.
Her life was always on edge as she was afraid of making mistakes that would embarrass them.
Now, her life was completely different. She didn’t have to fear anything as no one could restrict her from doing anything anymore.
Robert replied as his gaze turned cold. “Oh, you don’t need to worry about that. There will always be somebody else in the future.”
Lily stared him in the eyes for a long while before she nodded in agreement. “You’re right. There’s bound to be someone else.”
Then, she murmured as something else came into her mind, “Good for you.”
Just then, the waiter brought their food and laid them on the table individually.
Lily wasn’t hungry, nor did she have much of an appetite at that instant.
However, Robert had just added a soup to their order, and he served it to her.
“Thanks.”
“Don’t mention it.”

Now, the way Robert treated Lily was far better than how he used to when they were still married.
He would neglect her completely back then, but he was a lot more courteous toward her now.
Lily was sitting opposite the man who had taken photos of them earlier, and she noticed how he secretly put away his phone while he was eating.
The lens of the phone was pointing directly in their direction.
Now, she wasn’t sure whether he was just taking their pictures or if he was recording a video.
She pondered about it briefly before scooping up a spoonful of soup, and she fed it to Robert after blowing on it.
Robert froze for a moment as he was caught off guard. He stared at her in surprise.
She only smiled at him mischievously. “Just play along. Someone’s watching.”
They had never been this intimate before. Even Lily felt somewhat uneasy, let alone Robert, who had no clue what happened up until now.
He lowered his head to look at the spoonful of soup after a moment of silence. Then, he took a sip.
Lily was delighted that he had to play along with her rules for once.
She continued having her meal following that. Suddenly, she said, Honestly, it has been a long time since we last sat down and had a meal together after we divorced.”
Robert remained silent.
He had been extremely busy before their divorce.
He was so overwhelmed with work that he had no time for her after his grandpa had passed.
Later, he was busy with company affairs after matters involving his grandpa were resolved.
Robert knew that it had been a long time since he sat down with her for a proper meal.
However, all they talked about was their divorce now that they finally had time to sit and have a meal with each other.
Lily didn’t seem to mind the past anymore. “I used to dream about what kind of person I would spend the rest of my life with when I was younger. I wanted to marry somebody who would always be with me. But, I married you in the end and you’re not like that at all.”
She took a sip of the soup and added, “You brought up the matter about divorce later on, and I thought… I thought…”
Lily seemed to be thinking about something, and she continued in a cheery tone after a moment, “I thought it was finally my time to shine now that I can live my life on my own terms, I mean, how awesome is that?”
She couldn’t help but giggle after saying that.
